About this ebook
It is not the first time Mandy breaks a promise to her friends. It happens regularly. So Mandy invites them to a small party in her parents' mansion. It seems a perfect occasion to talk and smooth things over. For her friends it is the perfect occasion to give Mandy a taste of her own medicine. Because a promise is a promise. And a promise is serious. Dead serious. Sometimes nothing can break it.
Hubert Landmeter

Promises, Promises
Mandy had not forgotten her promise to pick up Sabitha and Judith. Her friends had been at some outdoor music fest all day, and she agreed to meet them at the parking lot entrance around 19:30. She arrived thirty-five minutes late, but she assumed her friends would not mind waiting. The sun was still shining and there seemed to be some entertainment going on outside the main event. The two girls sure need not be bored. And what’s a few minutes?
Then she saw her friends’ angry faces through the windshield.
‘So, how was it?’ she asked when they got in the car.
‘It was fun,’ Sabitha said. ‘Except the last half hour was a bit of a disappointment. Get it?’
It took a couple of moments for Mandy to get it. ‘Oh, guess I’m sorry I’m late?’
‘Next time don’t make promises you can’t keep. Or won’t keep. This isn’t the first time.’
