About this ebook
The Forlorn Enchantress: Verses Distilled in Love is a collection of forty four poems painting the boundless manifestations of love on the canvas of life. The anthology depicts love in all its hues, as seen, felt, imagined and understood by the poetess in her moments of poetic flights of fantasy. The different relationships in life are meticulously explored and the presence and transience of love in each of them either as agony or as ecstasy finds its expression.
The scope of and for love is limitless and immeasurable; each piece of poetry in this collection tries to visualise some form of love from a typically feminine angle – It could be the conjugal love between two lovers; it could be a one-dimensional flow of passionate love; it could even be an imaginative romanticisation of love or a sublimation of love following the trauma of loss, abandonment or a crisis.
The pleasure experienced through love is soothing but with it one can juxtapose the emotional pain felt in love. These dual emotions coexist in life making it complete and fulfilling. Such sensitivity finds its way through the language of poetry. Outbursts of love and even love in its suppressed form along with its perplexities have shaped the form and content of this anthology.
