About this ebook

When I found out how a Plant Based Diet could help me keep the health of my youth and eliminate old age diseases, I became very excited. I began to read all I could about the benefits of following this new lifestyle.

I even went to Hallelujah Acres for their Health Minister Training to help me teach classes and have support groups.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to my Heavenly Father.

    Acknowledgments

I want to say a special thank you to all the people who have attended my potlucks and weekend retreats who raved about the dishes I served. There were several who encouraged me to put my recipes into print. I thank my Heavenly Father for the creativity to create these good tasting recipes. I also want to thank those who took the time to write their testimonies that are included in each section, about how the Hallelujah Diet changed their lives for the better.

    Foreword

    C’ariel Bezin’s Testimony

When I met Lois Anderson years ago, she shared that she was into eating raw foods. I thought, I can’t do that! Then in 2003, I attended a monthly raw foods potluck dinner and became interested in learning more about this lifestyle diet. I made some small changes in my diet by substituting raw foods for cooked foods. I attended the Get Healthy Stay Balanced class.

I had acid reflux, took blood pressure medications, and had a pain in my side and lower back pain. I had heard Lois say she wanted to help people stay healthy and not get sick. At the time, I dismissed her statement because mentally I couldn’t accept that people could maintain health over a long period of time.

As I continues to make changes in my diet, I began to lose pounds for the first time in twenty years. As I lost weight, I lost the acid reflux, no longer needed the high blood pressure medication, and the pain in my side and lower back disappeared. I do not have health insurance. For the first time, I had HOPE that I could be well and that I didn’t have to be sick. I had lost my job in 2003, and had lived in faith and trust that I would be able to take care of my medical needs. I didn’t realize it until later that all my prayers for health insurance were answered through living the raw foods lifestyle. By eating healthy foods, I didn’t have to be sick!

One of Lois’s students, Darlene Schierland, was retaking the GGSB Class. This inspired me to retake the class a second time. Lois was willing to teach the class in my home in order to enable a lady to take the class that drove a hour and a half one way who lived south of my house.

At this point, I sold my snowblower so I could buy a Champion juicer and a dehydrator. I began to order dried fruits and nuts in bulk and stock up as I was able to make purchases. I worked day to day as a substitute teacher and had a low income. What I want to emphasize is that Lois was a big help to me as well as to others that couldn’t afford to buy books and video tapes. She was always willing to lend out her resources. In exchange, I used my gifts and talents as an educator and former business person to mentor her in business practices and teaching techniques.

What captivated me about raw foods was the conviction that Lois had concerning being healthy with raw foods. I see her glow when she is teaching her classes or hosting dinners. She has a mission and a purpose. She truly is serving in a ministry! She lives from the heart!
