I would like to thank my eldest son Anthony L. Johnson Jr, for his persistence in making sure his drawing depicts the meaning I desired to portray. Introduction
It’s always hard to express one’s inner emotions and flow with no distraction. The biggest mistake many make, is doubting themselves. Poetry for me is a way to release my emotions that boils inside. I encourage my readers to find a place of peace and release your inner thoughts. Whether in writing poetry or songs, whether dancing or drawing, find that one thing that releases all tension and allows you to float. As you read each piece, I ask that you read from the heart. Allow each piece to draw you in as if you have put it together. Whether you are in love, in a relationship hoping to fall in love; or you are a mother whose heart wants the best for her children; or perhaps you have sisters who really encourage you and push you; a brother that loves you for you; a family that really cares and has your back; or finally whether you have gone through some things that you hold bondage in your heart. Feel each word, each line in fact; allow it to penetrate to the core of your heart. Its ok to shed a tear or two; perhaps grab a pillow and release the scream within. Freeing yourself of the pain allows for a balance in life.
Each topic is designed with purpose and ambition; designed to cover the area in a woman’s life that really mean the world to her. Women wear so many hats and at times we find it
