INTRODUCTION
Procrastination might be sitting still inside your brain, carefully pushes the important task on the to-do later section. It has been inside your system for long time now, and even if you tried to kick it out, you still find it back, alive, and sitting still.
George Sheehan wisely said, There are those of us who are always about to live. We are waiting until things change, until there is more time, until we are less tired, until we get a promotion, until we settle down—until, until, until. It always seems as if there is some major event that must occur in our lives before we begin living.
Unlearning procrastination is a complicated process, but it is possible. Psychologist Mark Dombeck explained that it is possible to unlearn an old habit. As you can learn a new habit by consistent practice, you can unlearn old habit by consistent failure to practice it. However, you cannot find a hasty remedy. It will require process and enormous effort.
You can gradually weaken the procrastination by avoiding it. Avoid the stimulus which triggers yourself to fall in the cycle of endless procrastination. These stimuli might be the pointless distractions which you may constantly choose to avoid boredom. At the end of this book, you will learn how you can embrace the boredom of the actual work than the entertainment of pointless distractions.
This book will restart your system to fully utilize your untapped potential. Your untapped potential will transform into kinetics, into action. You must declutter your schedule to reserve time for the important tasks. You can gain control on your own time which may have been out of control until now. It will give answers to your questions such as, Where did the time go?
The second chapter will teach you how to build a power routine. You can adapt the strategies which productive people do to take a step forward towards their destination. It will help you prioritize when you are stuck to choose between the important and urgent. You will discover the most efficient method of scheduling to manage yourself.
The third chapter will teach you how to master temptation and motivation. When you sense a stimulus which triggers distraction, you will know how to react. You will be encouraged to finish what needs to be done first and what you want to do last. You will learn different strategies on how to revive your motivation and on how to subordinate your feelings and moods to your commitment as you will discover how to possess lasting motivation.
The fourth chapter will guide you how to boost your mental focus. You should assess the level of your mental focus and the habits which causes your mental focus to deteriorate. From this assessment, you can work on various techniques to boost your mental focus.
The last chapter will train your mind. You will learn how to tame your monkey mind when it comes to surface. Train your mind to focus on the present moment and track your ability to focus on longer sessions of work.
Whatever your present situation, you are not defined by your habits. You can replace your procrastination habit with new habits of productivity, motivation, and determination.
Unlearning procrastination is not a quick fix; however, you can see immediate progress which will encourage
