A Page to Ponder…..

2020 turned out to be a year of poetic prompting.

I am 73 years old and have written poems occasionally throughout my life.

However, during 2020 I wrote more poetry than I had in my entire life.

2020 Poetic Portraits is the first book of a trilogy, that will venture to express my poetic ponderings throughout that year.

I truly appreciate your willingness to experience these endeavors and please take care in Peace.

Pray It Forward

March 22, 2020

During this time of upheaval

when we’re all thinking a little deeper,

We reflect within and project without

while expressing more gratitude to our Keeper.

Somewhat different for every person

what we seek, what we find,

It’s the process as our feelings unfold

which affords us much to keep in mind.

So what is it that’s gained

as we reflect and ponder with thought,

Are we better, are we different

or do we feel somewhat distraught?

At the least we feel different

as we examine our space,

Who we are, what we’re doing

what’s the affect that it brings to our face(?)

If we truly see what we have

and how fortunate we are,

Then we’ve moved not a little

but have gained much, by far.

Our options to give and enhance

the lives and well-being of others,

With each effort, every day

someone gains or partially recovers.

How much does it mean?

these vital things that we do,

Some are measured, some seem not,

nonetheless, someone knew.

So we give of ourselves

so that others may gain,

This means so very much

that it should help us sustain…….

An outlook, a mindset

and a prayer for brighter days,

Whether we accept it or not

our attempts deserve praise.

And that’s very special

as we forge through this all,

So feel special and Blessed

and continue to reinstall…….

What’s essential to enhance

each-and-every day,

For yourself and for others

with triumph and not dismay. MEM

The trilogy of this Holy Week

comes at a most appropriate time,

Reminding us of that glorious day,

when our spirits will once again shine.

The Passion period to get there

as agonizing as it may be,

Will be unavoidable for all of us

So that we’ll surely be able to see…….

That by being faithful to others

while fearing what may lie ahead,

It’s an urgent testament for us all

that
