Day in the Lives

Day in the Lives is a collection of five stories: "The Alley," "Shadows of Us," "Free Sample," "Perception," and "Cheap Thrills."

"The Alley" explores the life of Mr. Sir Mister, a recent retiree looking for a way to fund his greatest passion: model trains. After retiring from his day job, Mr. Sir Mister finds his retirement payments are just enough to keep him alive. But when Mr. Sir Mister stumbles upon a drug dealer while drinking his morning coffee, he sees the perfect opportunity to make some quick cash to expand his model train collection.

"Shadows of Us" is a story revolving around the couple of Eddy and Aria. Eddy is madly in love with Aria, and wants to do anything to make her happy. To him, however, Aria has been slipping further and further away. Unsure of what to do, Eddy confronts his girlfriend in a desperate attempt to save their relationship from going under.

"Free Sample" tells the tale of a young cashier who just wants some food on his long-deserved break. Long lines and busy aisles prevent him from buying a snack, so when he stumbles upon a free sample stand by the bakery, the cashier is delighted. The only problem: only one sample remains, and another customer seems to want it just as badly as he does.

"Perception" is a short story about family man Allen taking his wife and daughter to an art museum. Trying to balance agitating his wife Yvette and teaching his daughter Amelia about the paintings around them, Allen finds himself stretched thin. That is, until he finds a wall full of empty frames.

"Cheap Thrills" follows George and 'Coin' in what was supposed to be a night of cheap companionship. Things don't turn out how George intended when the cheapest prostitute in Hollywood actually stands up for herself when he complains about her technique. As the argument in the motel escalates, the likelihood of George receiving his 'cheap thrill' drastically decreases.
