About this ebook

Welcome to the launch of Anais Devenish’s ebook, Mystery on the S. S. Zephyr.

“The dialogue supports the story’s characterisation and the fast-paced investigation. The consequences echo through the rest of the characters’ lives.” E. A. Smith.

“This entertaining story shows a chance meeting and the historical details–all interesting–allow us to encounter the scene at a leisurely pace.” Ffion Murphy.

“The writing is clean and professional. Hartman is a likeable main character, and the title has that nostalgia of an old classic mystery story.” K. A. McDiarmid.

•This story fits into the Genres of Crime, Mystery and Romance ... It is easy to read. This story shows that the relationships between immigrants and locals were not always bad during our early history. In life there is not always an explanation for everything, some things are just the way they are. It was written for research and the fun of exploring different writing techniques.

•The writer, Anaïs Devenish, who lives in Perth, Western Australia, is one of five girls. She was an avid backpacker when younger and spent time working overseas. Anaïs will complete a Bachelor of Arts in 2018, majoring in French with two minors of Creative writing and Children’s literature. She is a single parent with two children, who are now adults leading their own lives. When Anaïs is not writing or working, she enjoys travelling, art, swimming, sewing and craft. There are just, not enough hours in the day for her, because, she also loves dance, music, netball, piano, poodles, horses, and the Romantic languages.

•Similar books are the Canadian series of the Murdoch Mysteries first written by Maureen Jennings and then Michelle Ricci and Mir Bahmanyar, and Sherlock Holmes created by Arthur Conan Doyle is also similar. Both of these series are set in the early 20th century, like the Mystery on the S. S. Zephyr. There are in addition Agatha Christie’s crime novels and short stories falling into the same category.

•It is different, exciting and ground-breaking because it is a uniquely Australian story set on a Swan River Cruise in Perth, Western Australia, at the height of a February heat wave. So here it is! This story is now ready for you to access on your digital reader for your lazy, relaxing, reading days by the pool this summer.
