“Do you want to see my modeling pictures?” she asked excitedly.

“I would love to,” I said, finishing my juice.

“You’re going to have to drive me home. All my pictures are there,” she said, wiping her face with a napkin, indicating that she was done eating.

“That’s no problem,” I said.

At that moment, my girlfriend’s best friend, Tracy, approached us. “Hi Alex, how are you?” she asked, smiling.

My heart almost stopped. Was she going to tell my girlfriend she saw me having lunch with another woman?

“Hi, Tracy,” I said.

“Are you going to introduce me to your new friend?” she asked.

“Oh, yes. Tracy, this is Emma, my classmate.”

They both said hi to each other. Tracy had a crush on me, which made things more complicated. She also realized that I was uncomfortable.
