Abduction of a Teen
Chapter 1
Why am I brought over here, what have I done,
I asked.
You tell me,
the police interrogator said.
I want a lawyer.
I bet you do,
the interrogator said. The problem being you won’t be getting one.
-x-x-x-x-x
I want the whole story,
the police interrogator said. Tell me everything from the beginning,
he said.
I had not done anything wrong, or had I?"
This is how it all started.
The summer break was just over and it was my first day in college. That’s when I set my eyes upon her.
She looked angelic as well as devilish at the same time. There was something mysterious about her. I knew she would not do me any good, but as time passed by I got more and more obsessed with her.
I walked into class and I was thrilled to see her there too. I sat on the bench just behind her.
I pulled the strand of her hair; she turned, looked pissed off at first, but then warmed up and smiled.
Hey, I am Kate,
she said.
That’s a neat name,
I said.
What about you
, she asked.
What about me?
I mean what’s your name?
I am John.
That’s when the cunt of a professor walked in and she turned around. I was least bothered about the Prof. I couldn’t stop thinking about her face.
Days went by and the routine was repeated. I always took the seat behind her. I tried cracking jokes in class to get her attention.
Then finally I mustered the courage and asked her if I could take a seat next to her.
Yes,
she said.
Don’t you get bored attending all the lectures,
I asked.
No,
she said. It’s pretty fascinating.
Blah, Blah, Blah, she went on.
What about you, you also attend all the lectures, do you get bored?
No, not at all,
I said. I wanted to tell her I attend only because you attend, but I decided to keep that piece of information to myself.
I was happy, for the next whole semester I sat next to her, but on the downside we hardly had any conversation. She was focused on the lectures and didn’t appreciate me conversing during that time.
When the lecture was over, she used to leave in a hurry.
Chapter 2
The results of the 1st semester were declared. I as usual topped, I was a born topper. I beat the one who came second by a margin of 7 percent. I was thrilled. My lady love came second.
Now, in the second semester, she was more determined than ever to come first. She would speak lesser than before, take down more notes etc.
She started looking more exhausted when she came to college. I felt bad for her. Then one fine day I noticed a strand of hair fallen next to me. I laughed as I was amused.
From there on, it was a regular site.
By now, there was only a week left for the exams. No one as such came for class. Hence, the lectures were called off.
Kate and I used to sit in the library, she would study and I would read a novel.
Which novel are you reading?
she asked.
Godfather, by Mario Puzo,
I said.
Pretty, big book isn’t it?
she asked.
Not really.
It’s very interesting; you should not put it down till it’s over. Otherwise you will lose the charm,
she said.
As you say.
Smarty pants, wanted me to be focused on the book, so I don’t study and she tops. I was planning to take it easy
