Introduction
Most of us have children in our lives, whether they’re our own kids, our grandchildren, nieces or nephews, or just special young friends. Nothing says I love you
to them more than being hugged in a quilt of their very own. We’ve put together a great collection of quilt designs that are suitable for boys and girls of all ages, from baby to teen. Projects range from traditional to contemporary, and you can use fabrics from your stash or from a special collection you know will thrill the child. For that special little girl in your life, there’s even a throw quilt that comes with a matching doll quilt.
I’m sure you’ll find just the right pattern to be loved and cherished. Have fun stitching!

WOF – width of fabric
HST – half-square triangle
QST – quarter-square triangle
Cutting
From white tonal cut:
•15 (3½" × WOF) strips; subcut strips into:
40 (3½ × 6½
) B rectangles and 80 (3½") C squares
From each of 10 same-color-family assorted bright prints & tonals cut:
•16 (3½") A squares
From lime mini dot cut:
•6 (2¼" × WOF) binding strips
Here’s a Tip
For the ultimate in scrappiness, choose eight different prints of the same color for each block.
Completing the Blocks
1. Select eight A squares of the same color family, two B rectangles and four C squares. Referring to Figure 1, arrange the squares and rectangles into four rows. Sew together in rows. Sew rows together to complete one block.
Figure 1
2. Repeat step 1 to make two blocks from each color family for 20 blocks total.
