    Pieced Flower Quilts - Annie's

    Supplies

    Introduction

How does your garden grow? With flower quilts, of course! We’ve put together a bouquet of nine pieced-flower projects that are perfect for home decorating or gift giving. Adding flowers to a home always seems to brighten it up, and the best part about these quilts is that they don’t wilt like real flowers. Whether adding one to your table or wall, or just tossing one over a chair or bench, these quilts will bring the freshness of the outdoors into your home. Happy stitching!

    Project Notes

Read all instructions before beginning this project.

Stitch right sides together using a ¼" seam allowance unless otherwise specified.

Materials and cutting lists assume 40" of usable fabric width for yardage.

    WOF – width of fabric

    HST – half-square triangle

    QST – quarter-square triangle

    Cutting

Prepare Z and Zr templates using patterns provided. Zr is reverse (mirror-image) of Z.

    Here’s a Tip

Easy fabric cutting: If you have an AccuQuilt Fabric Cutting System, you can use the GO! Triangle in Square-Sides-4" Finished Square die (#55754) to cut the C, Cr, F, Fr, S and Sr triangles instead of using the pattern given. For that matter, you can use other dies to cut some of the other shapes (triangles, squares and strips) as well! Just make sure you use the correctly sized dies.

From each dark red, dark pink, dark purple & dark orange scrap cut:

    •3 (1½") A squares (12 total)

From each medium red, medium pink, medium purple & medium orange cut:

    •3 (4½") B squares (12 total)

From each light red, light pink, light purple & light orange cut:

    •3 C triangles using Z template (12 total)

•3 Cr triangles using Zr template (12 total)

    From dark green cut:

    •12 (2½") D squares

    •12 (1¾") E squares

    •6 (2¼" × WOF) binding strips

    From medium green cut:

    •12 F triangles using Z template

•12 Fr triangles using Zr template

    •24 (2½") G squares

    From light green cut:

•1 (9¾") H square then cut twice diagonally (discard 2)

•2 (7") I squares then cut twice diagonally

•1 (5⅛") J square then cut once diagonally

    •6 (4½") K squares

•7 (4⅛") L squares then cut twice diagonally

•1 (3¾") M square then cut once diagonally

•3 (3") N squares then cut twice diagonally (discard 1)

    •16 (2½") O squares

    •8 (1¾") P squares

•5 (3" × WOF) Q/R strips, stitch short ends to short ends, then subcut into:
