    Easy Crochet Dishcloths - Camilla Schmidt Rasmussen

    preface

    When you have a passion for yarn, for crocheting, for beautiful colors, for beautiful designs, and you don’t want ordinary disposable cloths containing micro plastic that pollutes the environment—then crocheted cloths are the way forward.

    Dishcloths are small, quick projects that result in something useful. And it’s a good way to use up your leftover yarn. You’ll want to gift your home-crocheted cloths every time you get invited somewhere because they are so beautiful. And it’s also an excuse to buy more yarn!

    We’ve gathered eleven of our favorite designs in this book and in the process, we’ve crocheted each of these patterns multiple times, because there’s nothing nicer than a big pile of cloths in different beautiful colors.

    We hope you’ll be inspired to hop on the cloth wave.

    So grab your crochet hook. Hyggestunder—cozy moments—with crochet await you.

    // Sofie and Camilla

    introduction

    All of our cloths are crocheted in 100 percent cotton using the most common thickness, which is usually fingering weight yarn (Craft Yarn Council weight 1, or Super Fine, sometimes identified as 8/4, approximately 186 yards [170 m] per 50 g). You can crochet using yarn with another thickness, just remember to adjust the hook size and possibly also the number of stitches. We generally crocheted with an E 4 hook (3.5 mm), as we think it’s important that the cloths aren’t too tight.

    The cloths should be soft and flexible when in use. If you crochet too tightly, you’ll lose that flexibility. These soft cloths are better at soaking up spills and are gentler on the hands that wring the cloth, so there are several good arguments for not crocheting too tightly.

    A multitude of crochet hooks is available but, if you ask us, Clover make some of the best. Try them and find your favorite. Just remember
