The Voice in the Night
I feel it is important to tell about how this book has come about. Then One night I had an unforgettable experience happen to me. I will try to relate it to you as best as I can.
As I lay sleeping, something woke me up. At first, I did not know what it was. I knew I had heard something as I lay there in bed listening. Was it the neighbor’s dogs barking again? No. Maybe an owl had hooted. (My husband often teases me and says I can hear an owl hoot five miles.)
I lay very quiet and very still. That is when I heard the words, You will write a book.
The words were very audible in my mind. They were very, very clear. That is when my heart stopped for a second. I knew that voice. It was the Lord’s! I will admit I was a lot like Abraham when the angel told him Sarah would have a child. I laughed and said, You have got to be kidding! Me write a book?
The voice came again, never acknowledging my disbelief and sarcasm. It said, It will be on Encouragement.
There was a moment of silence and then This is needed in the world today. My people need to be reminded of the importance of this. It is time.
