    INTRODUCTION

    IN EARLY 2018, MY HEALTH deteriorated rapidly. My face was covered with bleeding sores that would not heal. I had brain fog and ever-worsening fatigue so badly that I could barely function. And I had survived a heart attack in the middle of the night. I was gravely ill and felt like I was dying. And I was.

    Finally, I went to a Taiwanese doctor who has extensive training in healing modalities in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Naturopathy.

    Tests showed that the lead amount in my body was extremely high, nearly off the chart, as seen in the test report graph.

    I ALSO HAD HIGH AMOUNTS of three other toxic heavy metals: aluminum, cadmium, and antimony. In addition, there were excessive amounts of radioactive uranium, strontium, and barium, along with deleterious chemicals including phthalates, benzenes, toluene, styrene, and parabens in my body.

    Even worse, I was diagnosed with Lupus Disease, Hashimoto’s Disease, Stage Two Kidney Disease, signs of vascular degeneration, and other serious health problems.

    I had to take immediate, drastic action to save my life and restore my health.

    To rid myself of all these toxic substances, I underwent nine months of chelation injections. As an integral core part of this detox, I used the power of certain foods and beverages to help flush out the toxins, strengthen my battered immune system, and regain my health. I created and tested the recipes in this book, along with a few other recipes known to help, so I write from hardcore experience that can be of great benefit to you in your quest to detoxify and become healthy.

    You are exposed to a myriad of toxic chemicals and substances in this modern world, especially if you live in one of the heavily-industrialized nations. To achieve and maintain optimal health, it is crucial to periodically flush out these pernicious chemicals and other hazardous substances, as well as to embrace a healthy diet as a lifestyle.

    The recipes in this book are formulated to help detoxify your body safely, gently, and effectively. You can incorporate them into your current diet to improve your health and to restore homeostasis. However, if you’re eating the Standard American/Western Diet of conventionally-produced, highly processed, devitalized, irradiated, genetically-modified foods that are saturated with toxic, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, along with other dangerous chemicals, this only burdens your body with excessive toxins and lack of vital nutrients. The phrase garbage in, garbage out certainly is applicable to your diet.

    It’s virtually impossible to detox and embrace being healthy when you’re continuously filling your body with low-nutrient, unhealthy, and even toxic ‘foods’. Continuous consumption of heavily processed, devitalized foods that are damaged or destroyed on the cellular level will devitalize, damage, and destroy you. If you truly want to detox and achieve a high level of radiant health, you really must discontinue the modern Western diet, and return to a healthy fare.

    When changing your diet, it starts with understanding that it not only matters what you eat and drink, it’s equally important what you don’t consume. It is also vital to know that you are not necessarily what you eat, but you are what you digest and absorb.

    Undigested proteins, carbohydrates, and fats move into the intestines, and through Leaky Gut Syndrome (tiny holes in the intestinal tract), they enter the bloodstream and wreak havoc on your health. Undigested and unabsorbed proteins putrefy, carbohydrates ferment, and fats become rancid. This attracts parasites, viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungus and mold, and creates an internal environment for diseases including cancer. The ‘blanket’ term for this situation is ‘toxemia’. Also note that undigested fats can cause fatty tumors known as lipomas.

    If you’re on the Paleo, Ketogenic/Atkins-type diet, you can (and should) eat organic, grass-fed meat, dairy, pastured eggs, and wild-caught fish, and still benefit from adding my plant-based, (mostly) raw recipes into your meals. If you are thinking about becoming a vegan or a vegetarian, or if you have been one for a while, my recipes can be easily adopted into your regimen.

    Or if you’re simply looking to be as healthy as possible and strip off unwanted body fat and flush out toxins, you can benefit from adding my recipes into your food choices, exercise regimen, and personal detoxification program.

    If you’ve been eating conventionally-produced devitalized, processed, and fast food for years, and you abruptly switch to a different diet, be it Ketogenic, Paleo, vegetarian, or vegan, and especially a predominantly or 100% raw food regimen, you may find that your body reacts, and may experience quite a bit of a shock as it starts to cleanse.

    Also, if you decide to cajole your family to join you in your new food lifestyle, especially if you have children, any family opposition to a serious change in diet may be temporary if you are clever and creative, as there are many ways to change those old habits that make for a simple, pleasing transition. My recipes will greatly help you succeed in making these dietary changes.

    Start changing your treat habits by replacing store-bought, sugar-laden sweets with your own, home-made, sweet treats and desserts from this book’s recipes. These are so chewy, gooey, and taste-tempting, you and your family will be wanting more.

    You can use nut butters and fruit spreads into sandwiches for the lunch box instead of commercially-produced peanut butter and jelly. If the natural (sugarless) taste is a problem for you and/or your kids, add a little honey, maple syrup, or molasses.

    The so-called ‘vegetable’ oils of canola, soy, and corn oils should be eliminated; this includes margarines and other fake butter products.
