On this hot, airless May morning, the Great Smoky Mountains sun's red ball had already graced the fluffy clouds. The sound of mid-morning traffic on the town's boulevard, the aircraft circling the neighborhood, and the clean smell of the lake's beach filtered through the windows as Ava Summers came out of a body wrecking sleep like someone crawling out of quicksand. She opened her eyes but closed them immediately as the sunshine was hot against her eyelids. Ava moaned a little and hugged the pillow to herself. After a few moments, she sat up in the bed and checked the clock beside her bed. The time was twelve minutes after ten o'clock. Ava was a brunette. She was tall and broad-shouldered with full, firm breasts, a narrow waist, and long, lovely legs. Ava had thick eyelashes, a broad, beautiful mouth, high cheekbones, and smoky seductive eyes. A smile touched her lips as she remembered that tomorrow, she was going to turn eighteen.
Brett Cooper, her boyfriend, had turned eighteen two months earlier before her. He had promised her a surprising birthday gift. A gift that would seal their love and make her his forever. That was the way he had said the words. The only catch to it was that the gift would be hidden in an old cabin they had discovered during their senior year in high school. She wondered what the gift would be. I have the feeling it's something that will mind-blowing, she said to herself, but I don't know what it is. I guess I'll have to be patient. She smiled to herself again as the thought of the old cabin dropped into her mind. They had found the place along a trail during one of their free days.
