    Magnifying Winter - Taliah Mack

To a wonderful person who showed me the meaning of grace, love and admiration for all walks of life.

    D.M.S

Have you ever heard the saying, Walk a mile in my heels, I bet you won’t last a day?

This is true about my life. I've got a lot of secrets that I've hidden away. I tried to cover up my guilt by seeking love from strangers and becoming compromised. I did not care whether I lived or died. I've learned the hard way, unfortunately.

At the age of 30, I had to re-wire my brain to learn how to love and trust myself. That was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Accepting the unpleasant and unattractive flaws in my character. By facing my adversary in the mirror and telling her that she was loved and forgiven. The act of self-care was a rewarding challenge I had to undertake. I am writing this book with the expectation that it will be a gift of liberation. Breaking the chains of enslavement with recognition, affection, and last but not least, hope.

    People claim water holds memories

I wonder if it will remember me?

I must learn to face my fears,

    Which always lets me in.

The water expects nothing from me,

    Except for the teachings

    I want to be insightful-

    Whatever that means.

    It just feels my happiness

    Comes at a cost,

When I have nothing left to give.

    I am broken.
