Moving up to Oregon when he was young, he began school and within a few years found his love for reading and writing. Throughout school and his teen years, he received several accomplishments and awards for his writing. His first publication was the poem "Alone" that was featured in the book "Twilight Musings" published by Poetry.com in 2005. Receiving an editor's choice award for the poem, he began considering the idea of publishing a poetry book. Several years later, his family encouraged him to begin publishing his writings and become and independent author. In 2013, he began his publishing career with the book "If a Heart Could Speak", consisting of his poetry he had written throughout the years. Following the book's success, he began to publish fictional novels and is still writing to this day.
