    Introduction

    Icreated this book because I have always been someone who wanted to make changes in my life, and at times I have. I'm someone I imagine who is much like you, someone who wants more from life. Someone who in the back of their minds knows there is a better, more fulfilling life at the end of the rainbow, so to speak. Someone who can feel there is a better job, home, social circle, environment, lover, etc.

    I have always wanted to feel better, live happily and enjoy each day more fully. I am not, by nature, someone who is always positive. I gravitate back and forth between positivity and negativity. But I am always trying to change and be more positive, be better and get better.

    The strategies, exercises and habits in this book have helped me bounce back from a dark place to living in the light.

    There are many different techniques and tactics to try and use to drum up motivation or to summon self-discipline to elicit change. The ones in this book are the ones I used to get me from poor mental and physical health to feeling happy and secure, from being lost and confused with no purpose to knowing exactly what I want. From no clue how I was going to get what I want, to having a plan and the willpower to take action. From having no motivation and feeling sorry for myself to having unbelievable motivation, willpower and self-discipline.

    I have a background in many different areas. I have experience in many businesses and niches. I have made a great deal of money and lost it all. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was twelve years old and served honorably in the US Navy. I’m an author, writer, entrepreneur and employee.

    In 2016 I had no money, no prospects, nowhere to live other than with my mother; a terrific thought at age 46! I was alone and had no friends. I used the techniques in this book to get a high-paying 6 figure job, find my passion, and start living the life that I have always wanted. I have the self-discipline to get up every day to do what I need to do, get and stay in physical shape, earn a good living and be happy. If I can do it, so you can.

    This book encompasses the same techniques I used to get what I want and to have unbelievable self-discipline, willpower, motivation and self-esteem.

    My hope is this book will help you as well. I have found hacks that work. Many are in this book. In the past, for some reason, when I made changes, they didn't always stick. Or I could make changes, but they were temporary, leaving me unsatisfied. This made me want to know why. Why was I not able to make everlasting changes? Why did some things work and not others? I've created a simple, quick and easy to follow guide, or a series of frameworks that have helped me feel better, move me towards the things I want in life and away from the things that I don't. These frameworks helped move me away from the negative things that suck and pull my energy, leaving me tired and depressed. Now instead they push me towards the things that light me up. I smile more now. I am living my truth. I am on the path to doing and being what I was set on this earth for.

    I've tried just about every personal development program out there and read countless books on motivation, personal development, mindfulness, happiness, habits, etc. I've taken the strategies that matter to help someone who is stuck and condensed them into this guide. This is by no means the end-all to be-all guide to self-improvement. These are frameworks to get you, me, anyone back on track, unstuck and moving in the right direction towards freedom, happiness and fulfillment.

    I believe almost all types of personal development work, even if just a little bit. Even if one idea from one book works for you, then I believe it was worth the price of the book. I've tried Tony Robbins’ books and audio exercises, other online courses from other mentors, CDs and live trainings, and they worked, but some only provided temporary motivation to change me. Some changes only last for 30-90 days. Some things lasted much longer. What happened, I found, is that almost anything can work if the right foundation and groundwork are established first. The right framework can help you gain traction towards your goals, living the life that you want. The problem is that sometimes we revert back to old patterns and old beliefs. I know that I did. Why was this?

    The other day I was sitting in my doctor’s office getting a yearly checkup and prescription refill. While sitting in his office, he asked me what I was working on, doing, etc. He's a really nice man who I only see rarely. He seemed stressed when we were talking, and I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Normally this man is upbeat and cheerful. But on this particular day, he seemed not himself. So I told him I was writing a book.

    What are you writing about? said my doctor.

    It's the book I wish I had twenty or thirty years ago, I said, It's basically a framework to getting unstuck, getting your life back on track, upgrading your life, finding your life passions, making everlasting change and then living your truth. It's about dropping all the nonsense and doing the things that are good for you, that make you happy and live a fulfilling life. It involves simple changes that anyone can make to move toward great fulfillment in life and achieve anything that they want.

    That sounds like something I could use right now. He said, Is it finished?

    No, I replied, not yet.

    He told me about how he is being treated poorly by one of the hospitals that he consults for and that he had thought about downsizing his practice and just seeing the patients that he wanted to see. But unfortunately, like many, he chose money, prestige, long hours that resulted in being treated less than over happiness and fulfillment.

    This reminded me of all the times I made decisions about friends, jobs, and places to live, etc, based on some goal or aspiration that I thought I wanted — when, in fact, it was not.

    This book is for the doctor who feels he is not being treated properly from the hospital where he works but is too afraid to leave his comfortable, high-paying, albeit unfulfilling career. This book is for anyone who is not happy where they are in life, midlife crisis or unhappy with where they work. It's for anyone who wants more from life than to spend thirty to forty years working to earn money with no other purpose than to pay for food, shelter, clothes, and unhappy existence. This book is for you if you want more.

    It’s for anyone who has chosen, in the past, to live the so-called Good Life, a high paying position but with a poor reward other than financial gain.

    This is the book that I wish I had when I had nowhere else to turn, no money, no job, no prospects and no hope.

    This is the book I wish I had when I was at rock bottom and needed just a little bit of guidance on how to climb back up, propel myself forward and make something out of myself.

    This book is for anyone who feels they are stuck at rock bottom or just plain tired of the way things are and want to make lasting change and find happiness. This book is my attempt to show how I found the answers to everlasting change and how to obtain greatness in anything that you truly desire. First, originally I set out to write this book for me and never publish it, then after writing it I realized it was for you. It's for everyone that wants to make changes in their life but is too afraid, doesn't know where to start or just simply has tried and failed before.

    At first, I thought it would just be a way for me to look back on when I need a refresher, then I realized that perhaps it would be of benefit to others too. It's for you.

    What I mean is initially, I decided to create a daily journal of all the thoughts, words, the choices, actions, decisions, mindsets, rituals, habits, self-discipline, etc, that I thought about and utilized each and every day. Then I created a series of worksheets, habits and rituals and frameworks that I used to get my life back on track. This book became a version of this, an easy-to-follow guide where you can plug in your current circumstances, desires, wishes, habits (good and bad), etc., and faults
