Maureen Shane

Maureen Shane is CEO of Anna Wilson Scripts, LLC. Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, she was surrounded by both mountains and the ocean, which began her communion with nature. It’s that natural beauty of NC that Maureen parallels quite often in some of her metaphorical poetry. She discovered her love of poetry as a youngster in elementary school. Writing became second nature to her and instantly cathartic. As she matured and experienced life, Maureen’s written word not only served as her therapy, but it inspired and empowered others as she would share her story. When Maureen is not traveling, she can be found engaging in one of her many hobbies; however, she considers her spirituality and family to be the most important things in her life. Emerge is a personal story of love and self-discovery, a handpicked collection of poems created from a journey that is far from over. Emerge is Maureen’s first published compilation.

Hide within this journal that remains open wide

Caress all thoughts that flow from my mind

Fondle the curves of each written word

Stalking strategically placed adjectives and adverbs

With a stroke of my pen the liquid glides

Satisfying a thirst, my journal obliged

Pages upon pages anxiously drink

Breathe and embrace these sheets of pressed ink

Linger within my journey and mysteriously disappear

Peering and persisting but have no fear

Plunge deeper inside

Hide within this journal that remains open wide

Inviting you to come inside

The Anguish of The Heart

It all started when...

Man Child

As he lowered his head his eyes fell to mine

Together our eyes danced, and hands intertwined

Such smooth bronze skin in contrast to mine

I am that of an exceptionally fine wine

Marinating and getting better with time

O beautiful man child, man child of mine

Your years are few 1 score and 9

He held me by the small of my waist

Gingerly moving in to give my sweet lips a taste

Gentle hands gliding over my thick tanned thighs

Staring deeply into my beckoning eyes

O beautiful man child, man child of mine

Your years are few 1 score and 9

My smile welcomes his whispers of love

Shower me with kisses direct from above

While I melt in his manly arms

I've succumbed to his boyish charms

Just Friends

Dear Husband:

You say she's just your friend who wants to keep in touch.

What I see is a female who talks to you way too much.

Your conversations have no end

My heart and mind see more.

How dare you, how could you break my heart anymore!

You love me and no one else you always seem to say

You talk to her more than me, at least every other day.

Respect me please, cause me no more hurt

My heart bleeds every time you flirt!
