Acknowledgements
I thank the Lord for His Word and His multiplied Grace unto every good work of righteousness.
I thank Pastor Eugene Ofori Yeboah for the ministration of the word of truth that builds and equips for the work of the ministry.
I thank Samuel Tweneboah and Barbara Moore for their support as this book placed a high demand on their effort and time. It took long hours of work to draft this book into good shape. You both did good work to make this book systematic and comprehensive for readers.
Last and not least: I beg forgiveness of all those who have been with me over the course of the years and whose names I have failed to mention.
Background
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(Ephesians 6:10-11)
This is not a matter of being religious or spiritual; the fact is that there are schemes in operation in this world. Some of these schemes are man-made while most of them are influenced by unseen factors. People find this difficult to accept but are able to relate to unseen things such as love. Love, an unseen substance or condition, is able to make people do things they would not do under normal circumstances. It makes them look like they are being blinded and controlled.
Anyone able to understand this should not find it too wonderful to believe that there are schemes at work in this world not just by men.
Introduction
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(Ephesians 6:11-12)
Paul makes these statements as he concludes his letter to the brethren in Ephesus. Paul attested to the fact that there was a wrestle against us which was not by other humans. Even if it was made to look like it was from humans, it was undeniable that they were being influenced unknowingly by what Paul called, the rulers of the darkness of this world
.
The Darkness
It is necessary to find out the origin of this darkness in order to approach it with a better understanding. Before the fall of Adam, both heaven and earth were full of light, and hell was the domain of darkness. Hell is a place where God uses to honour those who do not want to have anything to do with Him. The only place available without His active presence is hell. Therefore, if one does not want to be part of God and His kingdom, God honours that decision; taking him to a place without His rule. You have power over the path to take but not over the consequences of any path taken. He warns us not to choose darkness but light. Until the final day of punishment, hell remains the territory of the devil. Man added earth (his territory) and his place of operation as a dominion in the heavens when he chose earthly knowledge over eternal life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). This is clearly seen when the devil enters into the gathering of angels of light.
"Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.
And the Lord said unto Satan, from whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, from going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down in it"
(Job 2:1-2)
This shows that Satan had the authority to move and operate in the earth; it had become his territory. Jesus retrieved this authority when he descended into hell after his death.
"And having
