About this ebook

ScareBoo is a scarecrow with a pumpkin head that is carved as a jack-o-lantern. He is the protector of the pumpkin patch and guards it from the crows, who always try to get past him every year to eat all the pumpkins. But ScareBoo performs a special trick that scares them away; however, he has been slowly losing his confidence because no one knows about him anymore...and the crows know it. If ScareBoo can’t perform his trick, the crows will have all the pumpkins they want and there will be none for anybody else. This also means that Holiday Management will close down his post forever. This story is about Brad and Chad, who once again find themselves helping a holiday character in need. But how can they help someone whom they have never heard of? Can they help ScareBoo regain his confidence in the midst of fear? Maybe, with a little Trick or Treat magic, Brad and Chad can keep ScareBoo from giving up on himself and save his post as protector of the pumpkin patch!

    PROLOGUE

Halloween means costumes, spooks, candy and fun! And of course we can’t forget about those funny, and sometimes scary, carved pumpkins we know as jack-o-lanterns. They sit out on the porches and window sills lit with fire. But did you know that the jack-o-lanterns all resemble one person who has a very important job at Halloween?

ScareBoo is a scarecrow with a pumpkin head that is carved as a jack-o-lantern. He is the protector of the pumpkin patch. ScareBoo guards the pumpkin crop from crows, who always try every year to get past him and eat all the pumpkins. When the crows come around, his confidence builds up inside of him and his head lights up with fire. The crows are always scared away and won’t go past him to the pumpkins. It’s a great trick that ScareBoo enjoys performing every year.

But, the story of ScareBoo isn’t quite as well known anymore, and because of this, he has been slowly losing his confidence to scare the crows away. The crows are aware of this and know that one day, ScareBoo won’t be able to hang on his post and light up his head with fire anymore. Then they will have all the pumpkins they want… and there will be none for anybody else.

This story is about Brad and Chad, who once again find themselves helping a holiday character in need. But how can they help someone whom they have never heard of? What will this mean for ScareBoo? What will this mean for all of the pumpkins? Can they help ScareBoo regain his confidence in the midst of fear? Maybe, with a little Trick or Treat magic, Brad and Chad can
