About this ebook

This is not a book but a heart which you are about to open...it's not a story but an ocean of emotions and feelings that you are about to enter.

When I held my little angel in my hand for the first time I decided that I will try to be a good father to this angel. These are but compilation of my experiences when I was with my little angel. I am sure most of the fathers would have felt what I felt and thought. It is just these thoughts that flow from my mind on to these pages you are now holding.....

    A death and a birth

    INTRODUCTION

You will only understand me and feel my anxieties, fears, love for you only when you become a father. " I remember my mom telling me this during one of our discussions or rather playful arguments.

And like every other parent in this world, I too accept that  the moment I knew, I was being promoted to parenthood… a new dimension of fear, anxiety, apprehension,  uneasiness etc. etc. crept into my being.

Waiting outside the operation room door in the semi-dark corridor of Nanavati Hospital, I realized what my mom said was absolutely true. Since 4.00 a.m., when my wife was taken in, due to labor pains, I was standing outside the door…. Just like in a Hindi movie, afraid even to move an inch, lest I miss out on any calls from inside. At 5.50 a.m., in the still solitude of the night and approach of the silent dawn, I heard the piercing cry emanating from the other side of the door. This was not just a new life entering our lives but a new era… A new dawn….Scattering the darkness of the night with her battle cry.

The moment I first saw my little angel I decided and promised myself that I will be a model father to this little bundle of joy
