Foreword
Depression is too many things, to far too many people.
The struggle is a daily reality that hundreds of millions of people around the world suffer from in silence and solitude. At times you may feel hopeless, or helpless, or worse, but the truth is you are never alone. And that as bad as it may be for you at this day, month, week, year, or hour…there is always a positive possibility on the horizon. But you have to make the leap of faith, to hit that sweet Rock N Roll Express meets Jumping Jim Brunzell SUPER DROPKICK delivered with all the swagger of a Young Bucks SUPERKICK direct to the square jaw of the lumbering demonic behemoth that is your enemy… DEPRESSION.
There are factors that are out of our control. All we can do is move towards self-improvement and our life goals to the best of our ability in spite of the obstacles that life will present. One day at a time, one step at a time, one positive moment, at a time.
Life can sometimes be a Handicap Match against a murderers’ row of soul-crushing adversaries. It’s you vs laziness, anxiety, fear, doubt and loneliness with special guest referee, your insecurity! Against all odds, in spite of the sick world we live in and the disappointment and anguish you may feel, you must fight on. You must push forward.
EVERYONE STRUGGLES! Remember no matter how green the grass may seem on the other side, EVERYONE has ups and downs. For some the highs are higher, and the lows are lower, for others the highs may be fleeting and the lows become the norm, but the one thing we all have in common is the ability to emit our own spark of light in the darkness. That spark can last a moment, it can burn intermittently, or it can last a lifetime. That spark that illuminates the cold and lonely night and gives you glimpse of the world outside the stifling cloak of depression is a positive mental attitude.
The world isn’t going to become a better place overnight, the scars of your journey may never fade, but you’re here, you’re breathing and today is another day to move one step closer to conquering your fears, and living your dreams. To free yourself of endless comparison to others, to forgive, forget, learn, grow, to eliminate toxic and negative people from your day to day existence, and to embrace the time we’re given to make our mark, because as the old H2O song goes, you only get ONE LIFE, ONE CHANCE. So build your mental and physical strength, escape through music, nature, art, performance, and companionship when you need a break, and ultimately prepare yourself to break on through a seemingly unbreakable wall, to the sunny side of the
