I would like to thank Sutton and Croydon libraries for providing me with the space to create my stories.

To Carol, Simon, Dave, Talia, Rob, Tina, Ollie, Jo and all of the other good police folk of the UK, thank you always.

To Sian and Ellie – your good humour and understanding are invaluable to me.

To Charlotte and Jacqui – there will never be enough words to thank you as deeply as I would like to.

To my friends – Ruth, Kate, Katherine, Flo – your support astounds me. I’m so very blessed to have you all in my life.

    Preface

Croydon Drop In – Counselling, Advice and Health Education for Young People, to give them their full name are a registered charity based in Croydon who support young people aged 11-25 living, working or studying in the London Borough of Croydon. They offer free, confidential services at their drop in centre whilst their Outreach Team also offer help within schools, colleges, local estates and youth projects. Young people also have the option to use their TalkBus service, which visits various parts of the neighbourhood throughout the week.

I was fortunate enough to be pointed in the direction of Croydon Drop In when I moved to the area as a young person. Through their service, I have been able to receive help that I wouldn’t have known existed beforehand.  Their counselling service offered me the chance to deal with some extremely challenging issues, which made me more able to focus on my job and life as a whole. Their advocacy team have helped me immensely to sort out my debt problems and applying to the right people for the right kind of support for me.

From their counselling service through to their advocacy work, their Outreach
