About this ebook

Understanding Women, Forward!

The fact that a man wrote a book on “Understanding Women” seems like a fool’s errand. I claim neither credentials nor authority. This book contains results of my observations; they may or may not pertain to any given situation. I choose to believe the way I do because it works for me, because it is fun.

Please start with an open mind. It has taken me a long time to become “teachable” and to reject the blissful state of ignorance. The fact is that I have been surrounded by women all of my life and I have learned a few things. I would like to share these lessons that I have learned with those who wants or, more importantly, with those who need them.

    Understanding Women, Forward!

The fact that a man wrote a book on Understanding Women seems like a fool’s errand. I claim neither credentials nor authority. This book contains results of my observations; they may or may not pertain to any given situation. I choose to believe the way I do because it works for me, because it is fun.

Please start with an open mind.  It has taken me a long time to become teachable and to reject the blissful state of ignorance. The fact is that I have been surrounded by women all of my life and I have learned a few things.  I would like to share these lessons that I have learned with those who want or, more importantly, with those who need them.

First you must remember that women are exactly like men, and that they are completely different. This is a state of being that I call, Symbiotic Dichotomy. We know that symbiosis refers to organisms or concepts that depend on each other and cannot exist apart.  A dichotomous relationship is jointly exhaustive and jointly exclusive. All is one’s or the other’s, sharing nothing.  A working dichotomous relationship is as improbable as light and dark coexisting in the same space. Fortunately for us, we know that there are shades of gray.

The above is not a perfect representation, but it is a tool that we can use to learn, to grow, perhaps to understand. I suggest beginning this voyage of understanding in awe of the undertaking.  We will not become Doctors of Femininity, but I hope that we can make progress.  After all, without progress, there cannot be any measure of perfection.

Wisdom surrounds us; often, we just need to recognize it. Simon and Garfunkel’s lyrics tell us that, The words of the prophets are written on subway walls, and tenement halls, and whisper, in the sound, of silence.  We all can learn from each other, and we all can teach each other.

Some believe they are, or that their - kind is created better than others. This belief structure is very inhibiting. The main problem with this, or any form of a superiority complex is that when one believes that one is superior, they become incapable of learning from those who are believed to be inferior.

My personal Declaration of Independence includes the phrase, ...all beings are created equal...   It is what we choose to do as creations of Mother Earth, God, Nature, parents’ passion, or what have you; it is what we choose to do with our lives that matters. Even if all beings are created
