Introduction to this 2021 Edition
You could call this the Talking & Listening To Men Success Guide.
Though revised, it remains a fast read on purpose, to quickly give you insights and simple techniques you can put into action immediately.
Effective communication is the key that can open so many doors in life. It can also help get you to that place of true intimacy and understanding with the one (and ones) you love.
Good conversation skills are the first step to listening, respecting and caring for others and earning their respect, caring (and possibly love) in return. These skills can help you gain success in business, in any social situation and, most importantly, in your personal life.
It’s my aim in this book to help you feel much more comfortable the next time you have a conversation with any man who is important to you, whether he is your boyfriend, husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, friend, boss, colleague, client, student or any other boy or man in your life.
Here's to good conversations!

Here’s what readers have to say about this book:
Dives deep into body language, situations, timing of conversations. Also breaks down how to (and how not to) handle situations with people no matter their relationship to you. This is a very effective communication handbook.
- Joseph C., Amazon reader
I wished there was a book like this years ago :-) It would have saved me a lot of thinking about what he had meant by this or that.
The book could also help you if you are starting your career, since many of the principles apply in the corporate world when talking to your boss, regardless if male or female. And colleagues as well.
- Francesca, Amazon reader
My wife and I will be married nine years this August, and it seems communication this past year had begun breaking down between us.
She read this book and asked me to read it, too. The book is written for women, but since she asked me to read it, and it looked like a quick read, I figured what the heck.
However, for me, the book was eye-opening. Really struck a chord with me and my wife. Definitely recommended for couples who've been together for years.
- Rick, Amazon reader
Ok, well written book, I get the difference now. Honestly, this book helps me recognize we really do speak different languages.
If nothing else, it makes me open my mind, listen more and understand what's being said by my better half. As much as I regret to admit it.... Great Job Jackie. I get it now lol.
- The Gull Lake Guy, Amazon Reader
This is one of those books that I wish I had read a long time ago, when I was starting out trying to communicate with men. I thought I knew how to do that but after reading this book, I realize that what I knew about was communicating with women.
I've always expected men to respond to conversations the way my girlfriends do. From ex's to bosses to lovers, this book breaks down men's needs in conversations. Very valuable.
- Helen C. Page, Amazon reader
This book is valuable for not only people in a love relationship but for anyone who feels like they aren't being heard by the people in their lives. I actually feel like I now have a secret advantage over others for knowing how to be effectively heard and for making all of my relationships work!
- Raphael G., Amazon reader
A quick read with tips that make sense. Maybe they're tips I could've figured out for myself, but I haven't yet so I guess it just helps to have them listed and probed a little. I could relate to the author's assessments and observations and appreciated the strategies--some of which are familiar, but all of which bear being reminded about.
- Carol Zakula, Amazon reader

Chapter One
We Have To Talk About Talking And Listening
How often have you found yourself trying to talk to the man who matters most in your life, but he doesn’t seem to be listening?
Instead, his eyes keep drifting to the TV screen. Or his phone. Or he’s looking everywhere except at you.
I bet he hasn’t heard a word I’m saying, you think to yourself.
So why not?
Doesn’t he care about you and what you have to say?
Doesn’t he want to understand you and what you want and need?
And just why is he so distracted?
Is he just stressed? Tired? Bored?
Or could it be he’s thinking of something else…or someone else?
How can you get him to listen when you talk…and reveal what he’s really thinking when he talks to you?
This book is written for any woman who wants a deeper, richer, closer and more loving relationship with the significant man in her life, or the man she wants to attract into her life soon.
If you are this woman, you really want to talk to your man, listen to him and communicate with him, on a deep and meaningful level.
You want to understand him.
You need to trust him.
And you want him to want and need to both
