    PART ONE

    It was October 2004 in Mexico City, a day like any other in the lives of all families, but not for the family of Alberto, Claudia and their year-and-four-month-old son Yahir.

    The alarm clock sounded with a deafening noise. Claudia and Alberto woke up immediately, but only she got out of bed, he, instead, continued to sleep.

    Wake up, come on, get up, said Claudia, moving the bed.

    Five more minutes, answered Alberto.

    No, not five more minutes. Wake up now, the baby needs milk and diapers.

    Five more minutes is too much to ask?
