SPLIT SECOND

Humming along to the film’s opening credits, I snuggled up on the sofa and settled down after another busy day.

It was 12 November 2020, and I was on annual leave from my busy job in pathology.

Between shopping, cleaning, ironing and cooking, I was ready to put my feet up and relax.

But as I settled down onto the sofa, I was beginning to feel cold.

With my husband Chris, 46, on a night shift, I decided not to put the heating on just for me, and grabbed a warm blanket instead.
