The Elf Queen s Children 1 - Peter Gotthardt
The Long Journey of the Elves
There are many stars in the sky, and just as many tales about the elves. This is one of them:
It is the story about a small group of elves, who suddenly end up far, far away from their home. They have come to a distant and foreign place, where no one has ever heard of the Land of Elves.
Tall mountains and mighty waters block their way home, and they make enemies, who hunt them without mercy.
But nothing makes the elves give up. They will defy all dangers and obstacles to get home to the Land of Elves, where the woods are green and the springs flow with refreshing water.
One
Finally, spring had come to the land of the elves. The last snow had melted away, and the sun chased off the heavy clouds. An abundance of flowers were starting to blossom in the woods and meadows.
The queen’s daughter, Coltsfoot, put her book down and stared out of the open window. Then she got up to find her friend, Anemone. Those two had stuck together ever since they were little, even though they were as different as a daring falcon and a gentle dove.
Coltsfoot found Anemone in the big garden behind the castle. She was helping her father, the gardener, plant mint and thyme.
It’s a lovely day for a long riding trip,
Coltsfoot said. Do you want to come with me?
I would love to,
Anemone said. If I may.
Go ahead,
her father said. We are almost done here.
On a bench by the wall sat Coltsfoot’s brother. His name was Blackberry. Knight Hazel was telling him about some of the adventures he had experienced. Hazel and the queen’s other knights were to fight monsters and other cruel creatures that sometimes came to the Land of
