Description

Welcome to The Apple Seed! Some time filled with stories for you and your family. Since 2013 we’ve been bringing you tall tales, personal tales, fairy tales, historical tales and more. All kinds of tales, from all kinds of tellers. Staring off today we’ve got Charlotte Blake-Alston’s “Black Mamba” about a village whose leader is dying and needs the saving medicine that can only be gathered from a ferocious snake. But who in the village will be brave enough to face the Black Mamba and save their Chief? Then we’ll enjoy an entry in the radio family journal. Afterwards, we’ll hear “Little Freddie and His Whistle” by Willy Claflin about a short young man who struggles to find work, and when he does find it, it might not be the kind of work he’d been hoping for. They’ll be music, betrayal, and as always, a good laugh with this classic Willy Claflin tale. Finally, we’ll share Fran Yardley's “Connor and the Leprechaun”, about a Leprechaun shoe-maker that usually goes barefoot until one day, he gets stung by a bee. Then the Leprechaun decides it’s time to make a pair of shoes for himself and this ends up leading to the most magical day of Connor’s life. You won’t want to miss a minute!
