Description

Being tricked can be a pleasant or an unpleasant experience. For example, have you ever had a surprise party thrown in your honor? That can be a pleasant trick. Or if someone tricks you into thinking you’re not getting the birthday gift you want, but lo and behold, you did get it. That’s also pleasant. But a lot of tricks can be unpleasant too. Maybe a monster plays dead and tricks you into coming near only to gobble you up. Or maybe someone asks to borrow money with no intention of ever paying you back. That’s pretty nasty. Maybe someone bonks you on the head to escape the punishment for their crimes. All of these unpleasant tricks actually take place in today’s episode. We’re excited to bring you tales from Heather Forest, Alton Chung, and others.

On today’s episode, enjoy the following:

“Azban and the Crayfish” by James Bruchac from Northeastern Native American Animal Stories (3:50)

Radio Family Journal: "Frisbee with Grandpa" by Sam Payne (16:27)

Daily Mix: “The Cat in the Hat” with Gene Nelson (22:26)
