Welcome to the Certi ed Professional Psychotherapist Course. This course will help you to gain an in-depth knowledge of what Psychotherapy is all about. In this course you will also gain a thorough understanding of the type of people you will be treating. There would also be lessons on psychological and physiological e ects of stress that can a ect anyone. You will understand how traumas can impact health and well-being and how unhealthy behaviours can form as their results. The most important take away of this course is the di erent type of people and issues you will be dealing with under psychotherapy.
This course contains self-assessment tasks at the end of each module which will ensure feedback on the study material and will help you in understanding it better. Also, it will increase your ability to learn. At the end of the course, there is an examination complete with case-study elements to ensure proper understanding of the course material before you can be awarded the certi cation.
This course will help you regardless if you plan to setup an online therapy platform or you are planning to establish your own psychotherapy practice in brick and mortar, where physical meetings can happen and you will be able to help your clients in a professional capacity. You will understand the pro le of your potential clients and gain insights into those clients who are unlikely to seek help and why. You will also gain insights as to how you can deal with di cult clients who don ’t seek help and what you can do as a therapist to help them continue. In short, this course will help you to become ready to start dealing with clients on your own and help you understand the intricacies of the profession as well.
Psychotherapy is not an easy subject and it requires a great deal of patience and consistency from the student. You need to be regular and go through each and every part of the module to make a solid foundation of the concepts. It is imperative that as psychotherapist you must learn all aspects of therapy and utilise your knowledge by gaining experiences as you do so. Your knowledge will help you in gaining even more intricate details and will take you a notch higher than just your knowledge.
Take your time with this course. Go as slowly as you need to understand the details and in-depth concepts. There are various behavioural problems or issues that are a part and parcel of the profession. For some clients they face an issue while communicating with others and sharing their ideas, for some others it is di cult to get a good night ’s sleep. Some others su er through eating disorders. To combat against such vast issues that exist, you must be con dent in dealing with your clients and hold knowledge to help your clients well. This means your ability to do so is dependent on your desire to study and to learn this course material.

What is Psychotherapy ?
Psychotherapy or Psychological therapy or talking therapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction with adults, to help person change behaviour and overcome problems in desired ways. The interpersonal process is designed to bring about positive changes in the patient ’s behaviour or attitude that have been proven to be bothersome. Most stress management programs use psychotherapy as the major component and for treatment of stress-related disorders. Recent studies suggest that psychotherapy has same level of e cacy as that of psychotropic medication for depression and anxiety and to be arguably more appropriate to management of stress.
Psychotherapy involves huge range of procedures and as such arriving on a cut and dry de nition for the word Psychotherapy
