About this ebook
Here is a beautiful volume of one of the most quietly impactful and luminescent works written on the consciousness of love and the healing of humanity. "Signs Along The Path To Awakening" is for anyone who is dissatisfied with things as they are, for those who hear a faint whisper that things can be entirely different. The plain fact is, things can be miraculously different.
Conveyed within this book is the reality of human thought and how it is meant to be guided by the consciousness of the heart. Not only is each of us ultimately responsible for and capable of reshaping the outer circumstances we perceive, but it is our natural state of being.
Each writing invites you into a higher state of consciousness, where an individual can see for themselves that our inner world is the foundation of our outer world.
Through the awareness of what David calls the center-point of being, based within the consciousness of love, we can now clearly see how we create every moment of our lives. Here, one sees their natural essence of existence is love, forgiveness, kindness, and joy.

Signs Along The Path To Awakening - David John Modica
To my best friend, Dawn Howard,
without whom my path would be incomplete.
And
To my dear cousin, Rocky Muzzin,
you are missed deeply by many
and you live on in our hearts.
Signposts & Pointings
The Path Of Life
This book is about the path you are on, the path of life. It seems to be a twisty road with pitfalls and waterfalls, sunshine and rain, joy and pain. It is filled with many seasons in which we are meant to learn and grow. In our experiences we are meant to transform so we become our own light and a light unto humanity.
Think of each writing in this book as signposts
or pointings,
as I like to call them along this path. As you reach the signpost, pause and ponder what the writing is pointing to. Remember this is your path, and it is the path of your life. You are on it right now. What are you thinking? What are you feeling? Are you aware you are even thinking and feeling at all?
We experience heartache and loss, happiness and attainment, and triumph and disappointment. We experience a myriad of trials, tests, and tribulations. We may pass, and we may fail, and we have done both. All the while, whether pass or fail, we then continue to the next venture, be it a struggle or joy, and we continue this path that we call our life.
This book may come to you because you have reached the point on your path where you are questioning the purpose of it all. It may be that you have yet to ask what the meaning of it all is or if a meaning even exists. Well, I have great news for you. There is a meaning and there is a purpose to it all. YOU are the meaning, and YOU are the purpose!
A Higher Level Of Consciousness
The pointings in this book are meant to draw you into a higher world, a higher level of consciousness. This is not done with the mind, rather it is realized in and with the heart. At the very center-point of being we are the very aspect of an awareness that is alive in the consciousness of love.
The consciousness of love does not think about itself. It is a spontaneous ever-evolving creation that is an omnipresence of benevolence, compassion, empathy, kindness, and inspiration. In other words, it is everything good, and yet it is actually much more than that. For the sake of this book and what I am pointing to this is a good foundation to ignite an understanding of who and what we are. As we get closer and closer to this understanding, meaning and purpose will be revealed to you.
This is an experiential understanding that takes place within your heart. The pointings in this book are to remind you of your true self which lies within the center-point of being. It is within everyone. It is the center-point of humanity, the heartbeat of life.
What We Have Forgotten
This book was written in a way that you can pick it up and read any page in it at any time and just sit with what it is pointing to. Again, these pointings are to remind us of who and what we are. They are at a higher level of conscious being
rather than the current understanding that brings us heartache, disappointment, and pain. This current understanding resides in thought and thought only, and thought is unaware of itself. How can something that is unaware of itself ever rest in the peace of knowing itself? It can’t.
As an example, you pick up the book as you are struggling with a crisis of some kind, and you read The more you can learn to be an observer of thought rather than identifying with it the less it has its hold on you.
This one sentence is enough to reexamine and even end the crisis which began in our mind. We suffer because we are unconsciously identified with ourselves absorbed in thought. We think it is actually us thinking and it is not. This is what we have forgotten.
Maybe you read The peace you seek lies in the consciousness of your heart. Let love's consciousness awaken you to abandon all thoughts you have about yourself and of life. Surrender. This is the path of negation. This is the path of love's conscious transformation.
This pointing speaks to the heart of who and what you are. You are the consciousness of love, not a product of thought in a moment of time.
