Risa's Old Man - Rachel Starkie

NO!
The girl yelled at the top of her lungs.
Risa, don’t you take that tone with me, young lady. I am your mother, you will do as I say,
Her mother replied.
"But Mama, I don’t want to stay here. This house stinks. This village stinks. I want to go home to Zuko," Risa cried, stomping her foot.
Risa baby, I know you don’t want to be here, but suck it up, buttercup,
her mum said. Now you will go and clean your new room, you will unpack. Or I swear by the goddess Risa if you don’t.....
She stopped as the door opened.
Hello, where are my angels?
Came a male voice.
Papa!
Risa yelled and rushed to her, daddy, "Do we have to stay here, papa? I don’t like it! Mummy says I have to clean and unpack. Can we go, please? I want to play!" Risa gave her dad the sweetest look she could.
I am sure we can go play for a....
He froze and turned to his mate. Annabell, my love, what is wrong?
Asta, I told Risa she had to clean up before she got to play,
Annabell growled, she may be human, but she could growl better than any changeling or dragon Asta knew.
Okay, Risa time to go clean, let us go chop-chop,
Asta said, running off with Risa still in his arms, making her giggle.
Annabell sighed but smiled, shaking her head when she heard laughing and giggling from Risa’s new room. Walking toward the kitchen to unpack, she almost tripped over a wolf pup. Shoot be careful, Apollo,
she playfully scolded, bending to rub the pup behind the ears. You need to be careful, or I may step on you. Risa is in her room,
she pointed and walked on, watching as Apollo took off. What a lovesick puppy,
she grinned as she started to unpack the kitchen.

Risa looked up at her dad as he threw things around, Go papa go,
she cheered happily, watching as stuffed animals flew across the room, one after another.
"How many toys do you have in this box, woman?" Asta mocked, his wolf ears sticking straight up.
Lots and lots, papa, you got me them all.
Risa giggled louder
Oh yeah, I forgot,
Asta said, winking and went on taking them all out of the box. Asta looked at Risa, smiling as he turned to the door to spy Apollo come sliding in. He petted the wolf’s head smiling as he watched Risa jump on the wolf.
Apollo! There you are, where have you been?
She kissed his head. The wolf shifted into a young boy with a cute grin. A small blush formed as he hugged Risa.
Sorry, Risa. I was hunting,
Apollo said in a soft voice, his wolf ears perked up, as Risa nuzzled into him.
Hey, hey, hey, no more snuggles, you two. Apollo get away from my baby girl. She is too young for male snuggles!
Asta growled diving for Apollo. Who giggling, jumped up, and raced away.
Risa rolled her eyes chuckling harder to herself, she started to unpack her stuff, but she kept looking out the window. She wanted to go outside, so she worked faster when she was done she rushed to her mum.
Mama-Mama-Mama-Mama-Mama-Mama?
She continued in varying degrees.
Yes, Risa?
Softly signing, Annabell looked down at her daughter, seeing her furry little ears. I see it is an ear day, hmmm?
Yes, papa has ears, so I do too. Only mine are cat ears for cats are better,
Risa beamed with a curt nod. She was five now and super cute with curly hair,
