My name is Jacob and I am a aspiring writer,Yes I know we all say that and then we end up in one of those jobs that pays the bills, but I love working in Childcare, so I got the happy job. I love my job, but my passion is writing and has been since I was eleven year old and was running around my adopted family's property yelling and screaming, acting out my pages. I fell in love with story telling and always forget how to spell 'Story'.My other interests are graphic art, childcare, photography, music, movies and video games. I would refer to myself as a happy go lucky socially awkward geek who likes to makes others laugh... therefore I aplogise for all the death in my books and future books.... and pretty much everything I write. I know I am weird and different and I have embraced that in my books, so please enjoy!

    CHAPTER ONE

Excuse me… Out of my way. Oh wait, I know you, or do I? Oh well, you are probably one of Gypsy’s friends, and that isn’t saying much being that she has a long list of them. Anyway, I’m terribly sorry, but I don’t have time to chit chat, I must get to my dressing room before someone sees me without my face. I suppose you could come with me, just try to make yourself scarce and don’t talk to anyone that is busy as you will end up disturbing them… There is nothing worse than an angry drag queen, trust me. We could pluck out your eyeballs with the tips of our fingernails, Daniel Hollis said looking around rather flustered, he had been working on their event non-stop and hadn’t had any time to rest and take a breath. There was a droplet of sweat dripping down from his forehead and streamed down until it reached the collar of his grey polo shirt, looking like a marathon runner, Oh and if you could make sure that the baby drags are nowhere near me, it would be much appreciated. Terrible little gremlins, always popping up out of nowhere like twinky groundhogs… Alright, let's go.

Daniel walked through the hallway with the intention of staying quiet, but with everything that was going on inside of his head he needed someone to upload all the information on to and you were the perfect candidate. Everyone in the backstage was frantically running around like chickens with their heads cut off and there were racks upon racks of outfits that were perfectly designed to fit the ladies of the evening, the queens of the stage, the slags from the back alley.

This used to be the biggest gay bar in all of northern United States, until they started to pop up all over the place like a rash you just can’t get rid of… I mean I am so pleased that we have more options nowadays, but the fact that it is only because gay has become a trend is concerning. Soon we won't be the latest thing and will be stuck with a whole lot of gay clubs that have been abandoned for the pan-tran-fluid-sexuals. Sometimes I think I am getting too old for this crap, Daniel continued on towards the dressing rooms, ranting on about his world view of the bar and nightclub scene for the LGBT community. He paused as soon as he reached his dressing room, and turned to look at you with a look of being deep in thought, You know… The more progressive we get, the less progress we are. I mean sure, we stand up as a community in theory and by name… But when it comes down to it, we are not all fighting the same wars and don’t understand the same struggles. I would never be able to understand what a trans male goes through every day, and I would never try to understand it from a personal perspective. That is there struggle… I’m sorry, I am probably putting such a downer on your night. Follow me inside.

Daniel Hollis’s dressing room, where the transformation began going from Daniel to Diana Hole, a drag queen at the top of her game and winning some of the biggest drag pageants in America. She was the mother to seven wonderful little drag daughters and showed them the ropes to being as successful as herself… Her dressing room was a small white room with a lit-up mirror with a selection of makeup in front of it, to the left were a selection of professionally styled wigs and a rack full of designer costumes that would have coast more than a decent car. She had dedicated herself into her drag, cut a piece off a placed it in her art... Then the walls, well they were covered in pictures of her in drag, from photoshoots to times that she had won competitions and they took quick snaps of her in all of her glory.

I see that you are admiring my photos… This one is when I won Miss continental, though to be honest there really wasn’t much competition that year. But still, it gave me a chance to shine in an otherwise dull world, give the kids their lives and help them enjoy the small things in life… Please have a seat, Daniel Hollis pointed over to him dressed up as Diana Hole in a silver sequin dress and big Texas-style hair, the bigger the hair the closer to god as they always say. She was rather proud of her in and would happily talk to anyone about it, explaining in detail how she was able to snatch the crown from all the other thirsty queens. He sat down in front of the mirror with his selection of makeup and began to beat his face, powdering himself with a thin layer of foundation to prepare for the night. Oh and if any of you little, god damn know it alls out there say that it is easy to do makeup and make yourself up to be a convincing woman, I would love to see you try and do it every night for a decade. Then, you can start critiquing people on the style of their faces…

You know, I spend so much time on my face to become someone else, and yet it is never as hard as bringing Diana to the surface, Daniel continued with his makeup, gluing down his eyebrows down with a product we all know as spirit gum. He would usually shave his eyebrows to make them thin and arched; then it really made it easy for him to draw brows that were a little more feminine or as he would say, womanly. What can a girl do… Oh well, this old bar may be on its last legs… Oh wait, you don’t know what's been happening do you. Well, I guess I could tell you, it’s not like it’s some kind of secret and I am sure Gypsy will tell you at some point of our struggles. That girl really does like to point out the first world problems.

Diana stood up from her makeup chair and walked over to a picture frame that was right next to my personalised rack of costumes, picking it up and passing it to you… The picture was a photo of the club with eight girls standing at the front, they all seemed to be happy like that had just accomplished something, and it seemed like the photo was from some time ago. This was a great day for us, I can remember feeling a great weight lifted off our shoulders, and this was when our first world problems could have ruined our life…

Just as Daniel was about to begin a story a queen with a loud personality burst into the dressing room, she was wearing a giant dark brown afro and a turquoise sequin jumpsuit, and her mug was beaten with a sprinkle of blue glitter. She was pursing her lips and opened her mouth to begin her long rant, Oh my god, you will not believe who is in the club tonight. Actually, you probably will, but he had the audacity to even think that he would be allowed to set foot in our club and not deal with a tongue lashing and we both know how good I am with my tongue.

GYPSY! The language… You know how I feel about you using that sort of language inside of my dressing room, completely inappropriate. Also, we have a guest, Daniel stopped Gypsy before you fell deeper into her hole of bad mouthing and spilling the tea and pointed over to you as you sat on the couch facing the both of them. Gypsy seemed to be happy to see you, her eyes lighting up like she was meeting her family, and without warning, she rushed over to you.

Oh my god, it is so good to see you. It has been like ages since we caught up, I said that you could come around anytime, but next time you should tell me, Gypsy threw her hands around you and squeezed you tight like you were a stuffed animal, it was a really long and was becoming slightly uncomfortable. It was one of those hugs where you would think there was something more between the two participants, but unfortunately, that was just how Gypsy hugged people.

Not much of a talker… But a good a listener, Daniel responded going back to his makeup, he was placing dabs of white powder all around his face to give certain areas definition and then he could go in with bronzer and highlighter after it had baked a little longer… If you are wondering, baking is a phrase used when a drag queen is applying makeup; it is when you let the makeup sit on your face and allow some of it to set before going in with the harder stuff. Don’t worry you will eventually pick up the drag queen language, if you don’t you could always have your local gay twink explain it to you. Yes, mama.

Diana! So rude, they’re mute… Can’t talk, even if they wanted to, Gypsy squealed, she was making into quite the drama, she looked at you like she was trying to apologise but clearly there was no way Daniel could have known about your disability. Don’t worry; it should affect things too severely, well, it shouldn’t affect the story after all.

Gypsy… They’re in the room, so maybe we should stop talking as if they weren’t, Diana spun around in her chair and looked over to the two of them, it seemed the two of them were having a small war on who was being more appropriate than the other. But the entire time you were sitting alone acting like there was nothing going on, trying to avoid looking directly at them and seeing the two lionesses circling one another in front of the other lions.

Oh yeah… So, what were you two up to? Gypsy said walking across the dressing room over to the rack of costumes while still staring at Diana, flicking through some of them but not even give them a single glance… One would question why you would touch them at all.

I was just about to tell the story of how we saved the bar, you know the whole illegal actions thing and not being able to report us… But I am getting ahead of myself, sit down, and we call all enjoy a true story, She explained getting up from her makeup chair and ushering Gypsy over to the couch next to you, it was story time, and Diana was ready to take a step into the past in a red stiletto pump.

Oh, I wish I had popcorn, Gypsy responded sarcastically…

Well, it all started… Diana started the story and a moment happened where the room kind of move around all shaky…

EXCUSE ME! Geeze, if you can’t tell this story right then, I will tell it myself… Hi there, I am Daniel Hollis, or you may know me as Diana Hole, and I am here to tell you the story of how a bunch of drag queen saved a popular gay bar from corporate America, the narrator just had to step out for a bit. So, I will be telling you the rest of the story, all I have to say is buckle up and stay fabulous my pretties…

    CHAPTER TWO

Our story begins back when this wonderful bar was really finding its leg, its long, beautiful legs and you know that if there is a place finding its place that I am placed all over it. I was the host of Glitter, the most popular gay bar in the north of America and everyone from all around would attend our event, and we thought that was enough to keep the doors open. But for some reason people don’t like our kind, there was a corporation who had a bigger plan for our large, and in charge venue, they wanted us out. But look at me getting ahead of myself, let’s take a look at my little world and please try not to talk…

Ladies, gentleman, and anything in between welcome to Glitter, the place where you can express yourself and show the world your true colours. Tonight I would like to invite you to partake in a little something that many would call taboo, with our lovely ladies giving you the burlesque treatment… Tonight you will experience the tantalising beauty of Baby Betty, the dark, the sexuality of Vera Gianna, the playful innocent of Gypsy, the quiet, class of Victoria Queen and maybe you will see some of our younger queens who will grace the stage for the very first time… So, sit back and relax and we… Entertain… You, I said, stepping out onto the stage in all my glory, I was wearing a silver fringe flapper dress with a cute silver and peacock fascinator and holding my bedazzled microphone close. I looked out to the audience and saw that we had a full house, although I was never able to let that get me done or at least not let me get too nervous.

I slowly sauntered off the stage and watched as Baby Betty got on the stage with a large baby blue feathered fan, her outfit was as polish and refined as all of my drag daughter, and it was the expectation. A level of standard that I expected from my girls and though I may have softened over the years to make sure they knew that I still cared, I still have a high level of expectation that they all adhere to.

I walked down the hall towards my dressing room to get into my second outfit, a long tight leopard print dress and a pair of plain black pumps so that it could be hidden under the dress. I passed the other girl’s dressing station where they all got dressed together and the stagehands who were moving an awful lot around, as long as they didn’t get in my way everything would be fine. I moved quickly stepped inside of my dressing room which I will say had a lot fewer photos at that point in time and a lot fewer trophies.

Ms Hole… Ms Hole… Gina, one of my stagehands, was screaming from down the hall, running towards my room like she wasn’t wearing heels. I may have made a rule that all women or female impersonators must wear heels when inside of Glitter, I wanted all of my ladies so show me their dedication and class even if they hold a supporting role. "Ms Hole…
