About this ebook
In the year 10,000 the world will end...
In 2020 a private organisation by the name of the IIPA or International Investigation of Paranormal Activity took it upon themselves to find and eliminate any form of creatures or objects of paranormal nature. But they found out the job was a lot harder than they first predicted and they needed to figure out a way to place the human race on the same playing field as the creatures from parallel worlds.
Lucrani Handlemen a talented scientist enlisted the help on an eccentric women Penelope Smite to create The Guardian Project, an experiment that places the normal everyday human in an impressionable state where they can be trained to elevate their senses until they can harness the paranormal energy inside of them. The Guardians were dangerous, they were emotional and untrained, but they were what was needed to complete important missions.
Not everyone agreed with their views and it turned out that the IIPA had more enemies than they did friends. The only thing keeping the human race at bay with The Queen of England and that left the IIPA to deal with previous disgruntle employees.
Will it end in disaster or can they stop the end of the world... Only time will tell.

My name is Jacob and I am a aspiring writer,Yes I know we all say that and then we end up in one of those jobs that pays the bills, but I love working in Childcare, so I got the happy job. I love my job, but my passion is writing and has been since I was eleven year old and was running around my adopted family's property yelling and screaming, acting out my pages. I fell in love with story telling and always forget how to spell 'Story'.My other interests are graphic art, childcare, photography, music, movies and video games. I would refer to myself as a happy go lucky socially awkward geek who likes to makes others laugh... therefore I aplogise for all the death in my books and future books.... and pretty much everything I write. I know I am weird and different and I have embraced that in my books, so please enjoy!

CHAPTER ONE
2020 AD
JANUARY 1ST, 11:30 AM
SAINT PAULS HOSPITAL
LONDON
EARTH
VIRRANUS
The dimly lit hallway stunk of fresh sterilisation and bleach, there wasn't a mark or spot to be seen on any surface. The hallway was lit with the lightest fluorescence, creating a glare that stung the eyes, it was quiet and deserted…
Argh!
Stumbling around the corner came a youthful blonde; she was trying to flee from something. She scampered around the hall, pushing herself off from the walls, desperately trying to keep from falling to the ground. Her predator could not be seen, but every instinct in her body was telling her to run and not to stop
Bzzt!
As she ran down the hallway, the lights started to explode, the sparks raining down around her. She squealed, covering her head with her arms, trying to the dodge the flying sparks. Her breath became short, and her heart started to beat rapidly, but she knew she had to keep running if she didn't want to be caught by her attacker. In an attempt to block the path behind her, she pushed medical equipment from the walls, trying to make it more difficult for whatever was following her. She could not see what was chasing her but knew it was something dangerous. The objects in its way were thrown with inhuman force as if they weighed nothing.
Help!
She screamed. Her voice echoing through the deserted halls while she tried to open the doors until she finally came to one that was unlocked. Shoving the door open and she ducked inside. She pressed her body against the door to catch her breath, looking around the room and becoming hysterical once she realised it was empty. Nothing to use as a weapon to defend herself.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
She could feel the vibrations through her body as the attacker slammed against the door, and as quickly as it started, it stopped. She let out a sigh of relief and cautiously made her way further into the darkness.
The temperature seemed to be dropping rapidly, as every breath she made came out in a white mist. Goosebumps started to form all other her body, and she no longer felt alone; she could see a shimmer in the darkness and a shadow on the floor. Help me! Is anyone there?
Cling!
An unknown noise come from somewhere in the room, although she had no response to her plea. She kneeled down slowly removing her shoes as she started to feel trapped, trying to dull the sounds of her footsteps. As she stood back up, she swore she could hear breathing from behind.
She paused as there was a single chair in front of her; it was empty and facing in the opposite direction like it was waiting for her to see something. There was no way she was idiotic enough to sit in a chair in the middle of a cold room, and the idea of doing it stayed in her head for two seconds before she kept walking. She was hoping to find something she could use as a weapon or maybe a way out of the hospital.
Clink!
An unknown noise came from somewhere in the room, and noise froze the women in her place; she didn't know how to react. She kneeled down slowly to remove her shoes, hoping that the sound would be dulled with her walking barefoot, she placed them on the side then pushed her body back up. The light was too dim to see if anyone else was in the room, but she could hear someone else heavily breathing.
Clink!
As she spun around, she heard a strange whooshing noise like a sword cutting through the air. The room went completely silent. Small droplets started to stream from the centre of her body, as she looked down the droplet were forming a river on the floor. She coughed suddenly, feeling slightly unsteady before her body started to slide. She hit the floor, glancing to the left to see her legs still standing with spurts of blood spraying out…
This is just one example of paranormal activity happening in the world while you go on with your everyday life, oblivious to the fact that your life could be at risk. But not to worry, the American government cared about the safety of the human race and sponsored the first organisation to identify and eliminate paranormal activity. Soon after the organisation found their own form of funding and turned into a non-governmental business, no longer being governed by any one country. United to protect all the world from the forces that want to try to wipe the human race off the face of the Earth.
The organisation started to notice that the threat was becoming increasingly difficult, and it seemed the only way to continue was to fight fire with fire. They came up with an experiment that could place humans and monsters at even playing field, but now it was up to them to make sure that the experiment goes according to plan...

VIRRANUS
‘The young female was found in the storeroom of Saint Pauls Hospital this morning. Her body was mutilated beyond recognition, and there seems to be no knowing where the murder weapon has disappeared. Police are currently looking into security footage to find the identity of who they are calling the Shadow Killer’ a simple article in the newspaper read by Queen Elizabeth herself on a beautiful afternoon. She read through the entire article, her eyes narrowing every time there was mention of suspicious circumstances; she knew that was a code in the media for a paranormal event that they could not explain. She closed the newspaper slowly, folding it in half and then half again, finally placing the paper on the coffee table in front of her.
Mother, are you alright?
Her son asked, sitting at the opposite side of the coffee table; he placed a copy of Jamie Oliver’s Great Britain in his lap. He noticed her bothered sighs when reading the article and then the look of worry in her eyes as she sat silently in her chair. He then stood up slowly, placed the book on the edge of the coffee table and kept direct eye contact with The Queen.
Yes of course dear, but I think it best you go get ready for the dinner tonight. Hopefully, everything will go off without a hitch,
She responded, looking up at her son and rubbing the side of her temple like she could feel a horrible headache coming.
I hope so as well mother,
Her son walked to her side for a moment and looked down at the newspaper that was folded into a square, he got the slightest glimpse of the article she was reading about the mysterious death. That was when he understood why she seemed unsettled after her daily reading.
Philip, you should not worry yourself with such dramatised information. I assure you that I will be able to deal with this little issue, so run along and please wear something dignified and tasteful,
The Queen explained glancing up at her son while a warm smile, then looked down at the coffee table to where she had placed the newspaper. In the back of her mind, she knew this was not an issue she could not deal with on her own, even with the full force of the English Army it would still be an interesting situation to come out victorious...
Philip left his mother alone in the sitting room with her thoughts, exiting through the main door and passing one of their servants, George Artter. He entered the room holding a wooden tray with an iPhone 8HD placed carefully into the middle; he then paused next to The Queen lowered it down in front of her. He cleared his throat then said in a clear, monotone voice, Your Majesty; there is a call on the mainline. She insists that you both have something to discuss, an old acquaintance of the royal family she says. I personally do not recognise the voice ma’am
.
The Queen took the mobile phone from the tray and noticed that George had placed the call on hold before coming to her side. She picked it up, placing it close to her ear and started the call once again, Good afternoon Ms Smite, I am glad to hear from you. What do we need to discuss?
She got into a more comfortable position in her chair and motioned for her servant George to leave the room.
As soon as she heard the click of the door she continued to speak, I apologise Ms Smite, but with such delicate information, I must make sure that it is not overheard by the wrong kind of people. You may continue… Yes, I understand the media issues this could pose, but as far as the public understands this was simply an attack by some crazed person… Ms Smite, please, there is no need to raise your voice. I assure that I have been taking serious precautions… What do you mean?
The Queen seemed engaged in the conversation with the caller Ms Smite, but at the last moment, she froze and stared ahead speechless.
Her eyes were glazed, and there was the occasional blink ever so often, the voice on the other side of the phone was still going but faint. Then the Queen continued, An experiment, at this time is risky. I understand that I have asked you to place this on hold many a time, but it has been for a good reason. You can’t let them roam free in the world like lost puppies and then activate them; they are not as you say Sleeper Agents
. The Queen paused once again to listen to the long-winded explanation Ms Smite was giving, but she did not seem to be convinced that she was thinking her experiment through.
I do not know… This is such a big step forward for humanity, and I think it should be discussed with the rest of the world, don’t you?
The Queen stood up from her chair, still holding the phone; she straightened her navy-blue pencil skirt and took a few steps towards the window. I think that I should mention your plans to the ambassadors tonight, I will only mention the experiment in brief detail if the time calls for it. But if you are to go ahead with this, I will need to know all the detail… Fine, then you should send a representative for tonight… Then she could speak with me after; I am not giving my approval till I know what you are going to do in all details… Thank you, Ms Smite; I do appreciate your candour
.
The Queen had always been cautious of an outside organisation of a private nature; she needed to know that they were placing the safety of her people first and that there was not a question of loyalty. She placed the mobile phone on the top of the coffee table, then paced the room for a couple of moments thinking about the importance of their alliance.
Knock, Knock
She turned to the door as she heard the knock and waited for the person to present themselves, but as she waited, she decided to say quickly, Do come in
.
Her son Philip entered the room partially dressed, still needing to grab a dinner coat and tie his tie; he looked more like he had come home from a long night at that moment. Mother I wanted to ask you something,
He said, closing the doors behind him and walking to a position that was close to her.
You know if I am not busy that you can ask me any question,
The Queen said kindly, she was always worried that her position as a royal icon would somewhat affect her relationship with her last family member. After her husband passed away and her two daughters died in a plane crash, she clung to her son for the affection and tried to make sure that she was the perfect mother.
I may have heard you at some point; you were speaking of something called Verron. I wasn’t sure exactly what you were talking about, but now I am asking what was is Verron?
Philip asked, watching his mother’s reaction to the word ‘Verron’, which was a little bit of a shock. She looked at him for a few moments, not saying anything, thinking of an answer that would be appropriate and would not give away information on something that she could not share.
Philip, dear. I have signed a contract that prohibits any discussions on certain topics; the mention of Verron is one of those topics. I do apologise, but I can not answer your question without breaking that contract. I will tell you the mention of that word to another could endanger your life, so please wipe this from your mind and do not mention it again,
She explained with a concerned look on her face, then rushed him towards the door, Now, I think it is time you go finish your dressing. While I prepare my speech, and slip into something a bit more elegant and poised. I will see you in a matter of hours
.
She closed the door, practically shutting her son out of her business. As the Queen of England, discretion was important and having something this important splashed on the front cover of the newspaper because her son spilt the beans over a few drinks was unacceptable. There was no feasible way she could trust him with the information or at least that is what she told herself to calm her nerves.

A representative of every peaceful country had arrived at Buckingham Palace with the expectation of an extravagant dinner and that at any given time certain important business could find its way into the conversation. Entering through the main hall was a collection of different races, colours, genders and background all dressed in appropriate attire; pressed suits, gorgeous conservative gowns and on occasion traditional formal wear from their culture. They would enter, admire the beautiful structure that is the Buckingham Palace and then be ushered into the dining room by an army of royal staff members whose job it is to ensure the night runs smoothly. Then they began the polite greetings and light chit chat on well-known public topics, finally taking their assigned seats.
The Queen of England was ready to answer any questions on the
