About this ebook

What would you do if you have to leave your home?

The world was once filled with humans living their everyday life until a virus broke out that cause the recipient to lose control of their body, cough up black ooze and their eyes suddenly start seeping out a black gaseous liquid. At first, they thought it to be a simple alien bacteria that travelled on one of the many space shuffles, but as they examined it they found that it was actually a much older disease and that it somehow had a mind of its own... it spread through the entire world, not as quickly as assumed a theoretical zombie apocalypse giving the Human Race enough time to secure one island country for the people to live without fear of infection, Australia.

Now the threat is no longer what is outside of the walls of Australia, but the real threat is inside with a tyrannical government ordering the civilians to bend to their every will. Not everyone is willing to bend especially a ground going by the name The Anti, they track down a small team who have been to the infected mainland to acquire their help and expertise and together they want to stop the infection and the leader of New Australia.

My name is Jacob and I am a aspiring writer,Yes I know we all say that and then we end up in one of those jobs that pays the bills, but I love working in Childcare, so I got the happy job. I love my job, but my passion is writing and has been since I was eleven year old and was running around my adopted family's property yelling and screaming, acting out my pages. I fell in love with story telling and always forget how to spell 'Story'.My other interests are graphic art, childcare, photography, music, movies and video games. I would refer to myself as a happy go lucky socially awkward geek who likes to makes others laugh... therefore I aplogise for all the death in my books and future books.... and pretty much everything I write. I know I am weird and different and I have embraced that in my books, so please enjoy!

    Chaotic Ending - Jacob Davies

    CHAOTIC ENDING

    BY JACOB DAVIES

    CHAPTER ONE

    ROAD MOST TRAVELLED

    2089 AD

    MARCH 1ST, 12:03 AM

    BRISBANE PORT

    AUSTRALIA

    EARTH

    VIRRANUS

    The year is 2089.

The world has definitely ended, but there are survivors, and I am one of them. In order to understand the present, I must tell you of the past, and how it all came to this madness, we call living.

It really started before I was born in 2016, when China declared economic war against the United States of America. As soon as they did, each country decided to choose sides and help each other out with resources and wealth. For a while, no country made a move, they all seemed to be playing a worldwide version of chicken, and no one was willing to make the first move.

Until 2033 the world thought it was safe, then a man named Andrio Van Liek created a new biological weapon that tipped the scales for the United States and its allies. Van Liek had created a parasite that would burrow into the body and shut it down, but it could also be switched back on and controlled like a puppet. They knew that what had been created was the most dangerous weapon ever made and the most uncontrollable, but they were blinded by pure hatred towards the Chinese. By 2064 the world was finally at war, the planning and backstabbing had finally gone on long enough,, and it was time to destroy the enemy. So, the American's allies followed their leader into battle, little did they know that what they were going to help with would change the face of the planet. The war started, and the Chinese seemed to be winning, and then the American's brought out their secret biological weapon.

Unfortunately, the weapon didn't only attack the Chinese, it also latched itself onto American's and the world turned into every man for himself place. The only country that seemed to be safe was the world's baby, Australia, which was so far from any other country that the parasite never made it onto Australian soil. As the rest of the world destroyed itself, Australia made a massive wall all around the coastline and saved as many refugees as they possibly could.2069. Australia is finally protected from the parasite, but the people are not allowed to leave the wall from fear of death or to be taken over as a mind slave. But they were able to save just over 260 million people and found a way to create habitable land for the refugees to live on. It all seemed perfectly normal until the government became a significant power.

Now in 2072, the government has fully taken over what’s left of the world, and we seem to have slipped into a communistic country. They won’t tell us more than we need to know about the horrors outside the wall, only that if we are to leave, we will suffer a painful death. A year after the government took over a force more powerful than the security police called the WrathMen were introduced, their sole purpose was to protect the government from any who planned to try and destroy them. They also control the media to make sure no slanderous articles see the light of day.

Then by 2085, a group called the Anti were formed in protest to the almighty government, and they swore to bring down the tyrant of Australia. I gained a job as a journalist a few months later for my article called The Plague of the Anti; it was on the idea that the Anti were doing more damage than good.

It has been one year since the forming of the Anti and the government still haven’t been able to find where they have hidden themselves. But it's only a matter of time.

Hello ma'am, please state your business, A large man with police credentials was standing in front of the boat pier, Rebecca passed him a few papers, and he then moved out of the way. Rebecca Gould was a Geologist and also had experience in marine biology and had been asked to come survey an area we like to call the Dead Zone. I was asked to come and record any and all of her findings via tapes, written notes and video evidence.

Now remember what I told you Lee. This area may have been fenced off by professional security personnel, but that doesn't mean it cannot be a target for the infected, She mentioned as we walked across the pier, the water was brushing up against the metal planks and then retreating back into the sea. Rebecca, why are we even going? I asked, trying to keep up with her while still scribbling notes down in my book, she passed me a small folder which said 'A New City' on the front.

Dad! I heard a voice from behind us as the boat started. I turned to see my son Joseph running towards the boat and leaping towards it. He grabbed onto the sides and pulled himself up into the boat, walking towards Rebecca and I.

Joseph, what are you doing! I screamed, I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the side, This is not appropriate behaviour, we are going to the Dead Zone and cannot risk your life.

Sorry to interrupt here, but we can't turn back now this boat is completely GPS operated, and so he has to come with us, Rebecca said stepping in between us with a small map, I looked at Joseph, and he gave an awkward look. I pushed Joseph into a seat away from both Rebecca and I, then we both returned to our seats to discuss the case more.

Is there anywhere we can place my son out of harm’s way? Rebecca passed me a small file with a few pictures of what seemed to be a prison, according to the data it was in a titanium box and was full of iron bars, Well I'll place him in there until we are done.

That should be fine. Now tell what you know so far about the infected, Rebecca asked, taking back the prison file, placing it inside her black leather computer case and pulling out a few gory photos.

"Well, from what I've heard, a biological weapon got loose and infected a large number of people, it created superhumans that were hell-bent on murder. They are mindless and what the future of the creature

'Zombie' would have been, but they are unable to cross the water for some reason without transport," I said looking at the corpses of the infected, with their hanging flesh, blood-stained skin and strange skin deformities. They seemed slightly frightened; even their diluted pupils seemed as if they were on a drug-induced rage, and it made me think how the change from human to creature actually worked.

You are pretty much correct; we’re not even sure if there is a cure to the virus. But we may in the future find someone who can not be infected, and from their DNA we may be able to create a sort of antidote, Rebecca said, passing me the statistics to the rate of infection and all the ingredients that were in the virus so far. But I knew for a fact that they had experimented on many humans to see if anyone had an immunity to the virus, yet there were no successful attempts.

Dad, when are we going to get there? My son asked impatiently; he was the sort of child that didn't wait to Christmas to be disappointed by the gifts his parents bought him. He stared out at the ocean, and I could only imagine what he was thinking, something about the endless walks of life and such.

Well I believe we’re venturing to a place that they used to call Philippine Islands, I replied giving him an old map from the early 2000s, I pointed to the Philippines, and he sighed. I couldn't imagine how people lived without jet-powered boats that could take you around the world in four days, well that is on high speed of course.

Yes, but how long till we actually arrive at the island? I gave him an alarm that said two hours and forty-six minutes, he examined it for only a few seconds and then passed it back to me, disappointed. I sat back down next to Rebecca, who was still examining the photos of the infected; I was starting to think she was a little obsessed with this entire project.

Hey, Ms Gould. Are we the only ones on this boat?

Rebecca placed her photos on top of the files next to her and glanced around, Well, surely if you can not see anyone, we must be the only ones on the boat. No one would be willing to go on a suicide mission Joseph; you shouldn't even be here. She picked up the photos once again and this time got a better look with a magnifying glass.

    Yeah, I suppose.

Rebecca, do you have anything on the samples they have found so far? I asked hoping that all we were going to see wasn't going to be this completely new evidence, that we at least had a direction to take. But Rebecca didn't seem to lift a finger to pass me a file, and that was a little disappointing.

Um no, She said it so casually as if it was alright that we were about to go into a very dangerous area and wander aimlessly through bits and pieces.

We had finally arrived on the shores, and a loud ringing started to come from Joseph's direction, it soon disappeared as I saw the alarm go flying out of the boat and breaking on the ground. There seemed to be a large building that could have been a hotel right next to the beach in front of us; it was shadowy and overrun with signs of nature.

Right, let’s get to the base, Rebecca said, grabbing two large bags and marching towards the hotel and yet I could not see a base or any signs of life. But I still grabbed my bag and Joseph's hand and rushed over to Rebecca so as not to get lost; I'm not willing to get eaten because we got split up.

Dad, this place is scary, Joseph said, looking around franticly, I could feel his heartbeat from holding his wrist, and it was pounding quickly. I glanced around starting to get paranoid that my son would be attacked by one of the infected, and I wouldn't be able to protect him.

Rebecca how much further to the camp? I asked, letting go of my son's wrist and helping her with one of her two slightly over-weighted bags. I wasn't too sure what was inside them, but it seemed cumbersome and ridiculous, but if this is what a geologist wants, who am I to argue.

Um shouldn't be too much further. I was told that they fenced off the main square and set up some of the state-of-the-art traps to kill any infected, She seemed very sure of her safety which helped with my nerves very slightly, but I still felt like a pair of very uneasy eyes were watching us. We seemed to be entering what used to be the old hotel lobby, but there were vines wrapped around the chandelier and stairs, there were pieces of broken furniture scattered everywhere and fallen photos of past guests. We passed through the main lobby quite easily and then entered into a long hallway that seemed to be blocked by a pool of water and then a steel door. "Here we are, this is the main entrance to the Base Square. One of the only safe places in the Danger Zones, but of course no one can promise that
