The Discovery

The wind blew in the middle of the night, a night that could change the world. Ethan was camping in the forest of Palmer City. He got up, hearing a strange noise, a very loud noise. He decided to go outside and go into the deep part of the forest and find out what happened.

Ethan wore a very thick jacket because it was too cold. He went out of the tent and started looking around. He was walking through the forest looking for something that could give him a clue about where the thing that made that noise was. Until he managed to see a strong light among the trees. He walked directly to it until he could reach the light. Ethan saw that the light came from a stone, he came closer to see clearly, and without thinking, he just touched with one finger and immediately he passed out. The next morning he woke up at the edge of a lake with the stone in his hand, and he noticed that the stone was different from others. The rock had bright colors, between green and blue. Ethan ran to the tent, packed up quickly so he could reach the bus that was taking him home. Last night was the last day of summer, and tomorrow was Ethan`s first day of school. He was anxious to tell his friends what happened last night.

It was 6:00 am when Ethan needed to go to school, so he grabbed his backpack, but he didn't know if it was a good idea to take the stone or not, because he could lose it, but, in the end, he took it. The bus arrived for him and went to school. In school, the first thing he needed to do was to go and find Mike, his best friend, and tell him everything that happened. When Ethan told everything to Mike, he was excited and Mike told him if he could see the Rock.

We will wait for Sam and Sara, we will meet them when school is finished, at 2:40 pm outside the door of the Sambey Restaurant... Ethan said.

In the restaurant, they were all talking about the experience that Ethan had last night, and just before he mentioned Sara and Sam what happened when he touched the stone, his backpack went crazy. The stone was inside his backpack and it flew outside the restaurant, and ended at the top of the biggest building in Palmer City, so all of them ran for it.  The building was about 200 floors and was the building where the president lived.

I think we just lost your stone. Said Sam.

Everyone thought the same, except Ethan. because the building was full of guards and they wouldn't let them in. Later on, Sara remembered that his uncle worked with the president.

I just remember that my uncle Zack is the personal secretary of the President Roland Diveler and I am sure that if I say that I will see my uncle, they will let us in.

Thanks, Sara! Said Ethan.

Now all of them will know if their plan will work. As they had planned, Sara entered the building first and asked the guard if she could go see his uncle. The guard told her that she could pass but she had to wait five minutes because her uncle was in a very important meeting with the president, they remained in the waiting room until the secretary called them. When they were in the elevator, everyone was amazed because the elevator was rising 200 floors very fast, and the president's office was on the top floor. When they arrived, Sara asked her uncle if they could go up to the roof because they wanted fresh air, but the real reason was that the backpack was up there.

Zack told them that he will need to ask the president first, and then they could go upstairs. When Zack came back he told them that it was okay to go to the roof. Zack was going to accompany them but everyone told him that if he could wait downstairs please because they had to talk about a serious issue.
