A Perfect Tale - Good Kids

    GOOD KIDS

    THE FIR

A young spruce grew in the forest. It was a good location and had a lot of sun and air. Around him grew many old comrades, fir and pine trees. But the little fir-tree was in a great hurry to grow up. He didn't think of the warm sun and fresh air, nor did he care that the village children chatted over strawberries and raspberries. Sometimes they would come with baskets full or strawberries hanging from canes, and they would sit by a small tree and say:

When winter came and the white snow shone around them, the rabbits used to run and jump on the little trees. Oh that was so annoying! But two winters passed, and in the third winter the tree grew so large that the rabbit had to run around it. Ah, to grow, to grow, to grow, to grow
