    Timmy hates Mondays. No more having fun with his best friend Vance riding bikes to the park. No more pretending to be on a grand adventure looking for treasures that pirates might have left under the slide in the sand. Nope, no more fun! The weekend was over and now it was time to go back to school.

    Timmy really didn't mind school. He liked his teacher, Mrs. Ames. She was the prettiest teacher in the whole school, and probably the smartest too he thought. He liked the way she came outside at recess with the class. While most teachers stayed indoors grading papers, Mrs. Ames enjoyed spending time with her students. At times she could be seen trying to do double dutch jump rope with the girls. She laughed just as hard as they did!

    She would pull her black hair, that was in the middle of her back, into a ponytail then jump through both ropes while the girls in the class twirled from each end. Even though Mrs. Ames wore dresses and heels most of the time, she always had her sneakers tucked under her desk to slip on when she went outside.

    One time she tried playing basketball with the boys in the class. She hit Mr. Roberts, the Principal, in the head. Mr. Roberts had on some fake hair and it started sliding down the front of his face. Mrs. Ames hurried everyone into the classroom while Mr. Roberts tried putting his hair back on. The class couldn't stop laughing when they got inside.

    Okay class, take your seats and get your homework out. Sara's going to collect them today, Mrs. Ames said. Oh, no! Timmy thought to himself. Every time Sara came to his desk she always rolled her eyes and made squishy lips at him, like she was trying to blow a bubble with gum. She
