Mother of four and grandmother to nine, her home has always been filled with stray animals, cats, dogs, rabbits, gerbils, white mice, rats, crows just to name a few, usually rescued by her children. These creatures were allowed to wander around freely and visitors would be astonished to see a crow playing the piano, or a rabbit hopping through the house. Having also lived in close contact with wild vervet monkeys since she was a child, once her own children had left home, the opening of a vervet rehabilitation centre, Vervet Haven seemed inevitable. The arrival of this baby Samango into her life, as her close friend Misty said would be an experience of a lifetime.
