About this ebook

It has been God’s purpose from the very beginning of this planet Earth to establish it as an incubator for His New Creation. Adam was the initial form that this God/Man would take. Those who studied the prophets should have known that Christ’s coming would not follow the conventional line of power politics. Anything truly born of God has always occurred when all hope in the natural is gone.

Richard Govier

Richard O. Govier (1928-2018) was a Protestant pastor and missionary and travelled the world in that capacity. He planted a number of churches as well as training pastors who served in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and across the United States. After his marriage to his lifetime sweetheart, Christine Ann Golfis, at the Bethesda Missionary College in Portland, Oregon, he attended extension classes at Pierce College and the Portland State college. Touched by the Latter Rain revival that began in the Northwest, the call of God rested continually on their hearts and they were forever seeking means of preaching the Gospel to their generation. They bought a small trailer and began an evangelistic trek across the United States, preaching in small churches that were open to the work and moving of the Holy Spirit. They criss-crossed the United States from Los Angeles to New York and finally settled down in Los Angeles where they both got jobs and attended a church in Long Beach, California. While serving in that church their son, Jeffrey Lee, was born on November 4, 1963.God had spoken through prophetic words that they would be going to a land whose language they would not understand. Going through a dry period in their lives, Richard loaded up a small tent and made a trip to Mount Palomar, to wait on God. After a week of prayer and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke to his heart that it was time to fulfill the call to a foreign land. Richard, Christine, and Jeff, set out for Brazil. They had no financial support for this until the night they boarded the ship. God sent a local Christian businessman who committed himself to their support for two years, just enough time to attend language school. It was while attending the Brazilian language school that a missionary visited and introduced Richard to one of Brazil's most notable guitar players, who had recently converted to Christianity. Richard played with him on the banjo and the two began a ministry together that took them to Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Richard taught pastors in afternoon meetings, while accompanying his Brazilian friend in large city-wide evangelistic campaigns in the evenings. After serving for ten years in South America, Richard and Christine returned to the United States, primarily to get Jeff into an English-speaking school. Richard pastored churches in York, Pennsylvania, and later in Brooksville, New Jersey. The family eventually moved to Florida where Richard went to work for Piper Aircraft and Page Avjet.Richard loved studying the word of God and, in his retirement years, wrote over thirty books about the unfolding revelations of God in human history. His son, Jeff, published these books one year after his father passed away.

    About the Author

    Introduction

It has been God’s purpose from the very beginning of this planet Earth to establish it as

an incubator for His New Creation. I say this in the light of the fact that there may be millions of other planets in our own Milky Way Galaxy that may be suitable for life as we know it. Yet Guillermo Gonzales and Jay W. Richards in their book The Privileged Planet demonstrate that this planet is not only exquisitely designed to support life, but best located to give us a view of the universe. The book was not written to prove some religious theory, such as Intelligent Design, but rather to prove, contrary to scientific orthodoxy, the Earth is not an average planet around an ordinary Star in an unremarkable part of the Milky Way.¹

The discovery by these two scientists helped strengthen my contention that the parable of Jesus of the treasure hidden in the field is speaking of this privileged planet Earth, and is the reason that God chose it to fulfill His purpose. This is also implied in Genesis 1:31, And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. God chose this planet for the treasure found in it. Not because of the gold and silver found in it, but because of the biological life found on its surface. At the apex of this biological tree of life is man, a creature made in God’s image.

An invisible God that possesses no physical image says He made man in His image. What are we to make of this statement? Are we to believe that a God who fills the universe could ever be represented by an image? Or can we ever confine a spirit to a form? That is why God forbid the Israelites from ever portraying God in the form of some image, who carried around the Ark, or a box that was essentially empty.

The fact that God made man in his own image would testify to the existence of a God/Man that would be God’s true representative. The Book of Enoch declares: "Therefore the Elect and the concealed One existed in His [God’s] presence before the world was created, and for ever."² Again it says: Before the Sun and the signs were created, before the stars of heaven were formed, his name was invoked in the presence of the Lord of spirits (verse 3). So the creation of man as a species in a three dimensional form was already in the mind of God since the world began. Adam was the initial form that this God/Man would take.

The pre-existing concept of a God/Man that incorporated within Himself all the attributes of the Godhead apparently came down to us through the revelation given to Enoch which was accordingly transmitted to the Hebrews. In Chapter XLVI of the Book of Enoch it says: "There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with Him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who He was; whence He was; and why He accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me; this is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all
