    A Savage's Pretty Little Thing 2 - Kai'or Elle

    Previously…

Markell finished the work in the office that he didn’t have time to teach Malia how to do yet. He had already taught her so much in only a few days and she was doing an excellent job. Plus, he liked having her around every day. Malia had agreed to be his and she had even told him a lot about herself, but he still knew there was a wall there. The shit with Kimberly hadn’t helped, but Markell had never been the type to play with a female. Any female he fucked with, he always told them what it was from the jump. He had done the same with Malia; the only difference was, he actually wanted her.

After locking up the auto shop, Markell jumped in his car and headed to the hood. He knew Santez had a key of his own to the auto shop. Therefore, he wasn’t worried about him being able to get in and get the truck he was supposed to be delivering. His focus was on what he was about to do tonight. Markell was pissed just thinking about the shit Jersey had tried to pull.

He knew the drugs Rayce was providing them with were going crazy in the streets. It was also making niggas crazy too because motherfuckers were trying anything. Markell had plans to put a stop to that though. Apparently Xeeto hadn’t been a big enough lesson, and he knew why. Santez had gotten in his head with all that moving in silence shit.

Markell liked to make an example out of niggas, and that’s exactly what was about to happen with Jersey. He thought about Malia as he neared the hood and decided to give her a call. He knew she had gone in for the night because she had texted him as soon as she pulled in the parking lot at Santez’s building. He found her number saved under Pretty Little Thing and then pressed it to call her.

What’s up? Malia asked as soon as she answered.

Nothing, I was just calling to see what you were doing. I finally finished at the auto shop and wanted to hear your voice for a second.

Well, a second is all you’re getting because I was getting ready to go to bed. Malia giggled.

You be in bed early like an old lady.

    Shut up.

Nah, I was just making sure you were straight. I’m about to handle this shit, but I’ll see you in the morning, aight?

    Okay, bye.

Aight ma, get some rest, Markell said and then hung up the phone.

He pulled up to the trap and jumped out to go inside. When he walked inside he saw Jersey tied up in the corner. He had been beaten up and Markell knew his team had whooped his ass. One thing they couldn’t stand was a traitor, and that’s exactly what Jersey was.

Get that bitch ass nigga in the truck and Dirty, you’re coming with me, Markell ordered before going back outside. He got in his truck and waited for them to throw Jersey in the backseat. Once they did that, Dirty hopped on the passenger side and Markell took off.

Where we going to, Kell? Dirty questioned.

To get my shit back. Jersey, getcho bitch ass up and tell me where this trap at before I murk yo’ ass! Markell said and slammed on the brakes. Jersey’s face slapped the back of the passenger seat and his eyes popped up. Being that they were swollen, they had only opened halfway.

    Huh? he asked, looking around.

Where the fuck yo’ people at with my shit? Markell asked as he started back driving.

I’ll tell you man, just don’t kill me.

Shut the fuck up with that and tell me what I need to know.

An hour later, Markell was pulling on the street of Jersey’s cousin’s trap. He pulled over on the curb, not wanting to be spotted at the trap. Markell turned around slowly in his seat and pulled out his gun. He looked at Jersey with pure hatred in his eyes. He could never respect that type of person and he felt like the world was better without Jersey’s kind.

Don’t do it, man! I’mma help you get your shit back, Jersey cried.

Fuck you, Markell said before shooting a bullet straight through Jersey’s head. Let’s go get my shit back, nigga! Markell roared, and then he and Dirty hopped out of the car. POW! POW! POW! Bullets started ringing out from multiple directions as soon as they did. Get the fuck down! This nigga set us up! Markell hollered as his body hit the concrete.

Santez checked his phone as he got in his car with Roxi to head to the auto shop. Roxi adjusted her seat and then laid back as Santez drove down the road. She rolled down her window and enjoyed the breeze that instantly slapped her in the face.

It didn’t take them long to get to the auto shop and Santez parked his car around the back. He told Roxi to sit tight and then walked around to the front. He took the key out his back pocket and unlocked the garage door. He lifted the door up and then walked over to the truck. Reaching under the truck, he grabbed the keys and used them to unlock the car. He got inside and then started the truck up before pulling out of the garage.

Once he was out of the garage, he had to get out of the truck to lock the auto shop back up. After he did that, he got back in the truck and drove around to get Roxi. She got out of his car and then joined him in the truck with a smile on her face. Santez turned on the radio and looked over at the girl beside him. He thought she was beautiful and the mystery to her had him intrigued. Although it was something about her that he couldn’t put his finger on.

You alright, Xan? Santez asked Roxi after they had been on the road for about fifteen minutes.

Yeah, I’m great. So tell me more about your business, Roxi encouraged.

Ain’t too much to tell. Santez chuckled.

But I feel like it is.

    And why is that?

Who are we delivering this truck to this late?

You sure do ask a lot of questions not to want to answer any, Santez said, watching the road.

Back to that, I see. I thought we talked about it already.

Hold on, Santez said, as his phone started to ring. Talk to me, Santez told the caller, and Roxi’s ears perked up.

You were right about Rayce, but you’re not about to like what I got to say, Paul, the investigator, said. Roxi heard Rayce’s name and clenched her jaw.

    What is it?

He had your old plug Don killed. Then, he started shipping off stepped-on drugs on Don’s behalf. I don’t know how long he watched him to get his routine down, but Rayce knew everything. He just didn’t move smartly because he didn’t even bother to cover his tracks. He sent out the stepped-on drugs to force Don’s clientele to shop with him so he could eventually take over. Oh, and another thing, this is where things get crazy.

Damn, I fucking knew something wasn’t right about that nigga! I knew it this whole time. Wait until I tell Markell. What else you got for me, Paul?

The chick named Xan that you had me look into real name is Roxi. She lied to you and I don’t know what else she has lied to you about. If I were you, I would watch my back, man.

Paul, what the hell are you talking about? Santez quizzed, not following him.

Roxi is Rayce’s girlfriend and she has been for years. I don’t know what they’re up to, if anything at all, but I’d watch my back, Paul informed him.

Santez had agreed to pay the investigator a lot of money to find out what he and Markell couldn’t. Plus, it was extra just for him to keep his mouth shut about everything and not go to the cops with whatever he found out. Santez knew that the money would be worth it now.

I appreciate that, Paul. I’ll have that for you the first thing in the morning, Santez said and then disconnected the call. The expression on his face was unreadable and he cleared his throat before speaking to Roxi. Do you want to tell me what the fuck is going on, Roxi? Santez placed his hand on his hip where his gun was, but it was too late.

I don’t think you’re in a position to be asking questions. Both hands on the wheel, Roxi ordered as she held a gun up by Santez’s head.

So this whole thing with us was a fucking setup? You Rayce’s bitch, so what, he sent you to spy on us?

Something like that, but now that you know the truth, I can’t let you live. Rayce said you would be the one to mess this up for Markell. You see, we’re making a lot of money with his business and we can’t let you fuck that up for us. Don is out the way and now it’s Rayce’s time to supply the streets. This shit is bigger than you and we can’t let the truth out because then, that would interfere with our billion-dollar plan. One thing about me is, I’ll always be loyal to Rayce and he’s going to be so proud of me after this. You were cute though, if only you could have played your part and minded your business, Roxi said as she placed the cold steel on his dome. As soon as she did, Santez jerked the wheel as hard as he could. POW! A shot was fired as the car went spiraling off the road.

H ow was your flight? Zolee looked over at Rayce and asked.

It was straight, lil’ mama. You missed a nigga? Rayce licked his lips as he looked at Zolee. They were sitting on the couch in her condo and Rayce was smoking on a blunt.

Yes, you’ve been gone for a month and you have barely talked to me. Zolee pouted.

I be busy, shawty. I told you that before I left.

Yeah, but ain’t that much work in the world. Zolee rolled her eyes.

When you’re a millionaire trying to be a billionaire there is, but I don’t expect you to understand that.

And what the fuck is that supposed to mean? Zolee quizzed, getting offended.

Aye, what you tripping for? A nigga put you in this nice ass condo and I’m about to get you a car. I really just met you and I’m already cashing out on your ass. I made you quit that lame ass job wiping tables and you gone sit yo’ ass in here and question me about the shit I do?

Last time I checked, you met me at that lame ass job wiping tables.

And like I said, I took your ass away from that shit. I’ve introduced you to a lifestyle that you probably wouldn’t have gotten to on your own.

Excuse me? Nah, see, you got to go. She shook her head.

Zolee didn’t like the way that Rayce was talking down on her. Yeah, it was her objective to get him to cash out on her, but being disrespected wasn’t a part of the plan. He was looking at her as if she couldn’t be shit without him. She started looking back on their conversations to see what could make him think that. When she thought back on it, she remembered mentioning the way she was living, not knowing that she was marking herself as the perfect target.

Their relationship had been nothing more than sex, but Zolee was hoping it could be more. What she didn’t realize was, Rayce was rich and it wasn’t anything for him to cash out on a random chick he was fucking. When it came to him, it was all about the control and the pleasure he got from having it.

That’s funny. Rayce chuckled, not taking her seriously.

I’m serious. Zolee crossed her arms over her chest.

    Tell me this?

    What, nigga?

How you gone kick me out of some shit I’m paying for? You’re mad about what I said, but am I lying? Think about what the fuck you’re saying and don’t let your feelings fuck this up. If you put me out, that will be it for us. This shit is in my name, or are you forgetting that? I’ll break this motherfucking lease and back to that raggedy ass motel you will be crawling, Rayce said viciously, showing his true colors.

Before tonight, he had been the perfect gentleman and had Zolee looking at him like he was her hero. She thought about what he was saying, and fear crept up on her. One thing she didn’t want to have to do was go back to the motel. She thought about what Malia had been telling her only a couple of hours earlier. It didn’t take long for her to realize Malia was right and she was wrong.

Zolee felt like she failed at everything and this was something she couldn’t fail at. Especially when he was providing her with the better side of things. She had never experienced that before, and she found herself not wanting to lose it. Coming from poverty played a huge role in that. A girl like her had never lived lavishly, so was she really gone let a few words mess that up for her?

Do you have a girlfriend? she asked, sighing. It was something that had been on her mind since he left town and barely had time to talk to her.

Yeah, anything else you want to know? Rayce sat back in his seat and crossed his legs as he continued to smoke.

How long have y’all been together and why am I just now finding this out?

Six years, and because you never asked.

Wow. Zolee shook her head again.

"You knew what the fuck was going on. Stop acting like you’re the gullible type, because you’re not. You were never looking for anything serious. You were only looking for a way out. I know your type. I love your type because you’re a get it by any means necessary type of person. I knew that when you left work for me. You wanted to seduce me and make me make all of your fantasies come true. So, cut the shit. I
