    About

Chapter 1: The Secret To Standing Out On Amazon

Amazon is like our human population...it just keeps growing.

With millions of registered users and books available online, Amazon has opened a whole new market for authors. Gone are the days when you had to go through a traditional publishing house in the hopes of getting your work published. Amazon has allowed authors (such as yourself and moi) to easily publish, market, and sell books to millions of potential customers. Their platform allows us to do this cheaply, quickly, and effectively, without ever leaving our house. All we need is an Amazon account, computer, and internet connection.

If you think about it, there has never been a better time to be an author. Every day, authors and sellers are making a good living by selling books and products on Amazon (I know I am). In fact, it's not uncommon for many authors to be earning thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars a month by publishing on Amazon!

However, with this easy access, it also leads to increased competition...With thousands of new books being published each day, this makes it harder to get discovered by potential customers. So, unless you’re a big-time author or have a huge following, standing out can be difficult.

So, what's the best way to rise above the sea of competition?

By optimizing your Amazon book listing.

Besides having a great cover and getting positive reviews, one of the best ways to optimize your book listing is with a compelling book description.

An effective book description (or blurb) hooks readers, draws them in, and gets them to click that Buy now button. However, a poor description creates a poor impression and kills potential sales.

If you can infuse your book description with persuasive words and targeted keywords, you’ll be maximizing the chances of customers purchasing your book.

However, you will be surprised how many poorly written descriptions I have come across on Amazon. After all, you don’t want to wimp out on your book description after spending all those months (or even years) writing your manuscript, do you?

Your book’s listing has to entice readers and convince them that your book is what they need to read. Basically, if you can’t convince customers to buy your book, it’s going to be hard to succeed on Amazon.

Think of your Amazon book listing as
