In a town of Kerala (India), having a population of about 4,000 people or less, lived a boy, whose dreams exceeded his actual life-status. Adam was a twelve year old kid.

Not being able to see clearly outside and the inner excitement of his exploding, literally drooling out, he decided to go out and check it out himself.
What he found out there literally changed his life forever. It gave him a new friend from a new world, the likes of which he could have never imagine.

Bedtime Stories For Kids - One and a Half Friend - Mohammed Ayya
Chapter 1
Once upon a time, some thousand years ago, when the world was beginning to know itself!!
I think I went back a bit too much. Let’s start again. Some fifty four years back, to be exact, in a town of Kerala (India), having a population of about 4,000 people or less, lived a boy, whose dreams exceeded his actual life-status. Adam was a twelve year old kid, who was more into his thoughts than he was in the life that was around him.
His parents were normal middle class people, with earning enough to maintain a normal reasonable life.
His father had a small shop, which sold candies, biscuits and all kinds of eatable snack that any child would want. He was able to make enough to make the ends meet. The shop was located right outside their house; had a table to display the things to be sold and a stool for him to sit on, making the shop very cost-effective.
As regards to his mother, she worked as a teacher at the town’s only school, which had classes up to fifth only. She taught children, as young as eight years old, to be educated enough to read and write the language they spoke. Of course this kind of work meant that the earning was very low, but it was hard earned money any ways.
Adam’s mother herself had studied up to class 7th, which is considered quite an achievement given her family’s financial condition. Her parents were very supportive of her in fulfilling her dream of being educated.
At a tender age of 20 years, her mother died of illness; hence the responsibility of supporting her aged father fell on her shoulder. To overcome this, even thought the society was quite conservative, she took up the task of making a living for herself, in order to support her father.
She started teaching children at her home, as it was convenient for her and made it easy for her to take care of her aged father, who was forced to be limited to his bed due to his sickness.
As time passed, she fell in love with Adam’s father to be and both their families were pretty much happy with them and thus, fixing the marriage was not an uphill task.
After three years of their marriage, Adam’s grandfather expired due to prolonged illness.
Time had flown past very quickly and soon Adam was twelve years of age. He reminded her of her childhood. He was always into himself, smiling and most of the time in deep thoughts.
At a young age Adam had shown signs of being high on intelligence scale. Hence, his mother wanted him to be a person that she and her husband could be proud of, when he grows up.
Adam spoke very little with others, especially if it was a stranger. The only friend he had was a stuffed teddy bear toy named Tobo, which was also his ‘hug while sleeping’ toy. He used to share every thought of his with it.

Chapter 2
14th May, 1969
One day, after returning from his school in the afternoon, Adam went out to play as usual with his friends. It was around 7 o’clock in the evening that his mother called him back in house, as it was getting dark.
His mother took him in her arms and kissed him all over the face. It was a usual routine for them to indulge in family talks and have a fun time with each other. Adam hopped around and ran all across the house, which was made of bricks and was a two room house with a veranda.
After spending and giving Adam an hour, the family of three sat down for dinner. As they
