    KETO 101

The major essence of the keto diet is to engineer your body to burn fat instead of carbohydrates and protein for energy (fuel). The thing is this, focus on consuming scores of healthy fats and moderate amounts of protein and reduce your carb intake.

    What Is the Keto Diet?

In simple words, a ketogenic diet can be described as to be in a state of ketosis.

ketosis is a process by which the body creates for energy in the absence of carbohydrates.

The ancient cavemen depended on fruits, vegetables, and meat as the source of fuel.

For individual beginners, to get in and remain in ketosis, many of whom started by eating about 20 net carbs per day. The majority of keto-adapted people follow this standard of 75 percent fats, 5 percent carbohydrates, and 20 percent protein. It is not difficult to do.

In ancient times, people foraged for food, hunted animals, birds and games. They caught fish in the rivers and plucked fruits from the plants. The discovery and refinement of sugar made the energy to be produced all of sudden from carbohydrates, which are certainly simple to process and convert into energy.

This energy quickly burns off and diminish rapidly. Prior to ingesting refined sugar and carbs by the people, humans have always been in a state of constant ketosis. Human bodies were being fueled by ketones. The natural state of man is ketosis. to corroborate this fact, a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics, 2002, confirmed that babies are born in ketosis and remain in that way for as long they are breastfeeding. This is also the period when brains of the babies are growing at a marvelous rate.

In ketosis, ordinarily, you may not feel hungry because food is digested and energy is burned gradually.

The ketogenic diet did not come into existence as a panacea for weight loss but as a remedy for patients with epilepsy. It is recommended by the Epilepsy Foundation.

However, a 2004 report published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, confirmed that a keto diet is indeed supported the loss of weight effortlessly. As a matter of fact, several studies have established that the ketogenic diet has been used successfully for weight loss, elimination of anxiety, an increase of energy and mental clarity. The ketogenic diet may equally help prevent multiple sclerosis, cancer, acne, and Parkinson's diseases. I want to assure you that no matter your condition at the moment, the recipes in this book will help you become free from all kinds of ailment and therefore provide you monumental turnaround of situations like never before. In simple terms, you feel renew and energetic.

    GATEWAY TO KETOSIS.

When consuming a high carb diet, your body is in a metabolic state of glycolysis, that is the majority of the energy your body utilizes comes from blood sugar. In this case, after every meal, the blood sugar spiked leading to higher levels of insulin, which enhances the accumulation of body fat and hindering the release of fat from the fat storage tissues (adipose).

On the other hand, a low—carbohydrate, high-fat diet subjects the body into a metabolic condition known as ketosis. The body breaks down fat into ketones (ketone bodies) for energy as its basic source of fuel. In ketosis, the body easily burns fat for fuel, and fat reserves are steadily released and consumed. It is a normal state, the point remains that whenever one is low on carbohydrates for some days, the body goes into ketosis naturally.

The majority of cells in the body utilizes ketones and glucose for energy. For cells that can only take sugar(glucose), such as sections of the brain, the glycerol derived from dietary fat is produced into glucose by the liver by a process known as gluconeogenesis. The major goal of the ketogenic diet is to keep the body in the state of nutritional ketosis constantly.

For the beginners of the ketogenic diet, to be completely keto-adapted normally takes about 4 to 8 weeks.

Once the body has become keto-adapted, glycogen- the glucose stored in the liver and the muscles-reduces, the body carries less water weight, increased muscle tenacity and full energy levels tripled than before. In the same vein, if individuals get themselves out of ketosis by consuming excess carbs, the body returns to ketosis much quicker than they were not keto-compliant. In addition, once the body is keto-adapted, one can usually eat up to 50g of carbohydrates in a day and still stay in ketosis.
