However, what it is designed for is to give you detailed techniques to help you chant, stretch, breathe, and meditate to support your awakening. It is meant to be brief and instructive with just enough details to help you heal and unlock your power.

    In this book, you will probably learn some new concepts, fresh perspectives on yourself and others, and a few pieces of yogic and Hindu traditions that you can practice in your daily life. The pages laid out before you are here to unveil the mystery of your life, one step at a time. It is meant to get you excited and knowledgeable enough to start exploring your own kundalini experience more. Kundalini has the ability to completely turn your life into one of happiness and connectivity.  Inside and out, your Universe will be different.

    Chapter 1: Traditional Kundalini

    The tradition of kundalini dates back to as early as the 9th century BCE in Hindu history. It is introduced in the Upanishads and mentioned in the Rajatarangini chronicle, along with several other ancient Hindu texts over the centuries. The literal translations of the term Kundalini are coiled one, annual, or circular. It is also used as a name for a Shakti goddess, Durga, and for snakes in general. The goddess associated with kundalini directly is Bhairavi.

    The concept of kundalini that has derived from the Hindu teachings is that there is a primal source of energy sitting at the base of everyone's spine. This primal energy is also called Shakti in Sanskrit.  For you to access this power, you need to awaken Kundalini. There are several practices to help you awaken it such as mantras, asana, pranayama, and meditation to name a few. In Hinduism today, there is a school of Kundalini Yoga that is founded on the teachings of the ancient Tantra and Shaktism schools. Hatha Yoga also adopted Kundalini in their teachings. Once awake, you can feel energy coursing up your spine like electricity.

    Your primal energy sleeps at the base of your spine, your Shakti pools, and this collects around your Root chakra or the lower major energy center in your body. For you to transform and become enlightened, you need to find a way to send the snake up towards your head. The process of awakening kundalini, therefore, involves encouraging your snake to strike up from your Root through your core; meaning your other energy centers (and along your spine) up through the top of your head. As your energy ascends, you are opened to a variety of mystical and amazing experiences. When your kundalini reaches the crown of your head, you can finally experience consciousness transformation. This process transforms kundalini into Ojas, the energy in its highest form.

    When your kundalini is awake and activating your energy centers during its ascension, you can experience the following symptoms:

    Tingling all over or a shiver running up your spine.

    Subconscious altered breathing.

    Alterations to your sexual organs.

    Change in voice tone or pitch.

    Ability to sing.

    Balanced thyroid function.

    The release of cravings or addictions.

    A better sense of taste, hearing, or smell.

    Feeling connected and aware.

    Feeling blissful.

    Enlightened

    Extreme temperature fluctuations.

    Spontaneous movements throughout your body.

    Sounds or visions connected to specific chakras.

    Intense emotional surges.

    Mental pressure or headaches.

    Body pains, especially in the neck and along the back.

    The sense of touch, hearing, and sight can become overly sensitive.

    Changes to sleep patterns.

    Body odor changes to a more natural and sweet smell.

    The awakening process and experience can be different for everyone. Sometimes it will physically knock a person over while other times it is completely felt internally, manifesting as an emotion or feeling. However, you feel it or see it occur, do not be alarmed; the primal energy courses in the best manner for that person at that moment.

    Vitalism

    The foundational concept of Vitalism is that life is not just a series of chemical and physical responses. There is a vital force or principle to make an organism function. In Vitalism, this force can also be referred to as elan vital, energy, vital flame, or vital spark. In some cases, it is called the soul or anima.

    This vitality is what separates the non-living from the living. When there is an imbalance in this immaterial force, disease occurs. Ancient healing practices often relied upon these flames to help heal the body. In fact, the tradition of medically addressing energy as well as
