Renata Lanzoni

Renata Lanzoni lives in Oxford. Born and raised in Milan, Italy, she chose the UK as her adoptive country at an early age. A keen traveller and a linguist, she has visited several countries, both for work and pleasure. She has recently spent two years in Sri Lanka, where she immersed herself in the local culture. A financial auditor by training, she abandoned corporate life after the loss of dear ones, when she decided that life was too short and needed to be lived. Her fiction describes real stories, real people and profound issues, in the hope to help others achieve a better life.

    FOREWORD

Want to travel the world but not be burdened by heavy luggage? Don't know what to pack and think you'll need your kitchen sink?

There are ways to travel as light as for a day trip and still have everything you need on the other side of the world. Spend more time exploring and less packing and unpacking. Less, in this case, really is more.

Follow me in this journey through what we really need and what we can easily do without. In this guide I share the what, the why and the how of light packing.

    INTRODUCTION

Not all who wander are lost.

    J. R. R. Tolkien

Over the years, I have had the good fortune to travel extensively, both for work and pleasure and, although I still have many countries on my bucket list, so far I have been honoured to visit more than 40 countries on 5 different continents and the incredible luck to live in 3 of them, one of which was a tropical island. From Australia to Argentina, from Brazil to India, Costa Rica to Indonesia, France to South Africa, Romania to Morocco, Russia to the Caribbean, Turkey to Sri Lanka and plenty between. Each journey, taught me to trim and remould my luggage to ensure that I can travel at length without being hindered by heavy bags, still having enough to be comfortable. The result? A baggage (☺) of experience I want to share with you to make
