Introduction
Almost every airport I've entered has a luggage store. The idea of buying luggage seems to make sense because traveling is when you need it. But I've noticed the luggage stores are always located after the security lines. At that point, most people have already checked in their luggage.
Of course, if the store was placed before security, that could be useful. I have witnessed more than one person show up with an overweight bag, forced to go buy an extra suitcase to avoid hefty fees.
Packing and lugging your luggage is one of the most stressful and annoying parts of travel. If you're flying, there's the weigh-in and that embarrassing moment when YOU have to buy the suitcase. Or, there's the joy of having a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) official runs his or her gloved hands through your underwear.
Let's not forget the fun of achy shoulders and arms as you lift and carry bags or drag your bumbling, broken-wheeled suitcase behind you like a sad puppy. Even if you're driving, you've got to lug, carry, drag and hoist your stuff from your house to your car, your car to your destination, and you may even be paying extra to have a porter manage it all for you.
Tired yet? It's almost enough to make you want
